Help identifying cue joint (pin) type

I have an old Falcon cue (made 1990 or 91), it seems to be a Janette Lee signature series. I always thought it has 5/16 x 14 piloted joint but I tried a Predator 314-1 shaft from a buddy at the pool club that was (supposedly) a 5/16 x14 (with silver ring) and it didn't fit properly. The guy was not entirely sure that was the pin type. Then I tried a Mezz united joint and it fit properly. From looking at the pictures I have attached to this message someone told me that it might be a 3/8 x 10.
What does this look like (see pics).
I want to buy a low deflection shaft (as they seem to be all the rage) and I was thinking a Predator but either their 5/16 is a little different or mine is a different type joint. I live in the UK so I would have to order from USA so if a new shafts gets here and it doesn't fit I will be stuck with a shaft I cannot use and cannot sell as no one seems to use this pin type.

Also, I really like this cue butt, looks very good and has some sentimental value for me and I don't want to buy a new one. Perhaps if I can find a cue technician I would accept changing the pin to something else but I am not sure that is safe and I am afraid the cue will be ruined. I am not sure if the change will be at shaft or butt end.

Thanks!

Thanks for reply. So classic Falcon would mean 5/16 x 14 piloted, correct?
Well if I don't know exactly if the shaft would fit or not then I will have to go second hand and see if I can try it before I buy (so no ebay from USA). Might be a long wait. This joint is severely unpopular (at least in the UK)

Odd you don't see that in the UK, it's on Joss, Schon, quite a few custom cue makers use that joint type also. What cue brands do you usually see?

Can you clarify the meaning of "it didn't fit properly" wrt the 314-1?

Yes, 5/16 × 14 .
With my Uni-Loc Shafts that somehow don't fit properly it means, it needs a lot of force to get it on the butt. While other shafts go very smoothly. But I can get them on the shaft (at the end). Doesn't seem to work the way it should be though

Call Goran at GO Customs he will make you a shaft with any joint you want. Perhaps you could send him the butt to be sure you get a good fit

From what I've seen at the club I play at Predator is the most popular but also popular ones are Jacoby, Cuetec (almost exclusively used with the cynergy carbon shaft), Mezz and some Tigers.
Joss is virtually non exiatent here from what I've seen (again, I am pretty much limited to my comunity) Also snooker and english pool are much more popular here and whatever cue producers make those cues are popular.

So unilock and radial are probably the top joints in your joints :)

The shaft probably screws down til it hit the pilot of the brass insert. Old Falcon cues had a smaller pilot. Approx. .480 i.d.
Most after market brass inserts outer diameter are .490 or larger.
Mezz cues use approximately a .475 o.d. on the insert which is why it screws down all the way.
And Yes... 5/16x14
