Anyone ever had a balsa wood ferrule? I know they make bamboo ferrules and I know balsa is strong for how light it is but you guys think it would hold up well?
is that an ob ferruleThere's always options.
What was really the point of those? I don't understand how a comparable result couldn't be achieved much more easily. There's always options.
I didn't trust the balsa by itself or the OB ferrules that I could tare apart with my fingers. So I made my own. What was really the point of those? I don't understand how a comparable result couldn't be achieved much more easily.
No Siris that an ob ferrule
I thought that's what I was looking at. Why even have a ferrule if it doesn't offer a durability improvement?the OB ferrules that I could tare apart with my fingers
You are correct. Ferrules glued together with what looks like gorilla glue doesn't hold up to impact. I'm guessing on the gorilla glue.I thought that's what I was looking at. Why even have a ferrule if it doesn't offer a durability improvement?
Hi MichaelHey Michael, Michael here as wellAre you still selling those ferrules? Are they stacked wood or what? Looks good to me If you got some for sale let me know.. or if anybody's got some bamboo ferrules I'll take those as well
My apologies. Will you sell me one... Or two... Or 3 lol do you install stacked leather wraps as well?
What wood do you use?Hi Michael
I only make them when I need them. They're a little time consuming but not to much. Pretty simple to make.
I think balsa would be terrible for ferrules. I know it well from table tennis rackets. It is spongy, the air inside is compressed on hard hits and acts like a spring. The results would be unpredictable.Anyone ever had a balsa wood ferrule? I know they make bamboo ferrules and I know balsa is strong for how light it is but you guys think it would hold up well?
