A Bad Action List would be more helpful.

Enough people have been burned here by cue makers who posted under their real name.

Personally I think that’s a great idea, except It gets right to the edge of a slippery slope and would need to be done correctly. The last thing you want to do is give someone reason to come after the forum for libel. You’d want to be certain on accuracy of information and probably consult someone who practices civil law first. It’s different than say Google reviews, in that the entire purpose is arguably to cost that business money (it’s the reasonably expected outcome of warning buyers) so if that business claims false information caused them to be on that list…….

Problem is that for the 19 yrs I have been here, it takes an act of God to get banned for being a POS seller on this site! Call someone an A**hole and you get warned....screw 10 people over on deals and It's " hey stay longer....PLEASE". It took 2 yrs to get Eddie Wheat banned..... Hence why people like Lee and Ricky and some others are still here taking advantage of the newbies, etc. I don't spend much time here anymore due to this lack of response to these smucks by the powers that be.

Good point, at the end of the day, that is the best list to have if you can only have one list. But if you can have an extensive list, what are the limits/criteria to be on that list or not on that list?

AZB Members only?
Years in business?
Who vouches for that builder?
Location?
Amount of cues built per year? (does Meucci deserve/need to be on the list? - i.e. Are they mainstream enough to not worry about?)
What amounts to a bad builder?

Not being a jerk, I just think this is a good idea and these are good questions to get it started.

And that list also needs to be dated so people know when it was updated last.

My reply above was posted before I read these messages - it is 1AM ;)

100% agree, but it only takes the agreement of management and one dedicated person (not me) - (and a village/AZB members) to help keep the list current.

RE: Google reviews - the list is a managed list - i.e. only certain people could edit the list,

As far as libel goes (and to keep it short) - Notices, check boxes, agreements, dates, etc. will take care of that. This is a privately owned website and bears no responsibility? Maybe notify the builders and ask if they want on the list? There are lots of ways to address this.

I haven't been here as long as you have, but believe me, I know the frustrations of people needing to be banned. I still can't (fu****g) believe they let overlord back in and not TATE, that disgusts me). That being said, with the advent of (somewhat) real moderation here, I do believe that if a person was dedicated to the list, and it was received well, that the list would be well maintained.

Additionally, in ZenForo (the forum software you're viewing) you can add labels under the user name to depict a known seller, etc. - I have owned and managed a ZenForo forum - it can do a LOT of stuff.
