Aramith 100 new ball set out tomorrow

"... Aramith100 is 5 times more resistant to impacts compared to our Super Aramith Pro or Tournament ball sets, which were already by far the most resistant on the market."

Are they bouncier? Cue ball exits would be 5 times stiffer than usual? This would make complex shots more predictable and consistent. This would be especially true of half table shots as found in 14.1 and 1 hole.

Bet not...

Did anything happen at the end of the countdown this morning? All I got was an e-mail with a link to pictures that were already on the webpage before the countdown ended.

I am not crazy about the lack of numbers on each ball. The colors are acceptable to me.

Never going to see them in a pool hall, imo.

It will be interesting to see how the cue ball stands up to breaking with phenolic and other hard tips.

I am happy the cue ball is not a measles ball. I give it a 6.5 / 7.0 out of 10.

I do wish that the 4/12 ball would be more purple (less blue) and the 3/10 ball a different shade of red (more red, less orange?). Maybe it's just the lighting in the pictures. I know that I will get at least one set. It won't be played with though. I would be very interested in buying extra cue balls. I wonder if that is going to be an option.

What was the point in having the countdown?

It works for crappy movies...

Not the biggest fan of the ball marking scheme but the most important part is are the specs real, if they are I would buy a set, will wait and see when someone actually has them and can give a review.

I like the number side. The 100 side shows erm, well, the number 100.

Interesting the CB ‘100’ does not have the Aramith logo in the zero. Only the other side.

I’d get a set depending on the $.

I called Seyberts this morning and all they could tell me is that they have talked to Arimith today, but still do not know price and they will probably only receive a very limited quantity. Does not look good that I will get a set. Good thing they’re ugly.

I've yet to see a set of pool balls more appealing than the Brunswick Centennials. This set of balls is interesting, would rather see the numbers on both sides of the balls. Curious to see what the price will be.

It's probably a great set, in quality and for a collector. My first thought is "hmm"

I like having dots on the cue ball, the blue and purple look similar and overal they look kind of old fashioned. But that mightve been their aim.

Again it probably is a great set, but I share your sentiment, Angus.
I don't care for the 100 on every ball. I share your sentiment regarding the blue and purple being close. Fatboy should certainly be happy with the orange 5.
😉

"... Aramith100 is 5 times more resistant to impacts compared to our Super Aramith Pro or Tournament ball sets, which were already by far the most resistant on the market."

"This reinforced layer also makes the Aramith100 resin 3 times more resistant to wear, scratch and stain than any other phenol-like billiard balls on the market."

"With a higher hydrophilic molecular structure, Aramith100 resin enhances anti-static properties. This resin further prevents the balls from building a static charge and hold dust particles. Thus, it drastically minimizes the risk for kicks, skids or poor contacts during a game."

Yeah, I might be in.
Now for the million dollar question.. how much? Have they dropped that bombshell yet?

The price……Hmn……more than their other sets obviously…….Brunswick Centennial sets
brand new are on eBay for mid-$400 to $500. I imagine this set will sell for over $600 which
averages $40/ball and $50/ball would be the highest ($750/set). If the median price was $45/ball,
the 100 set sells for $675 which is likely closer to the price range, IMO. Then add sales tax and
perhaps shipping cost, the price is easily over $700/set. If the price was actually, $50/ball avg.,
the set would approach $800 which is sucker money. There’s even some new sets of Brunswick
Centennial pool balls on eBay for mid-upper $300 & the Aramith 100 balls aren’t nearly as nice.

A fun nickname for centennials could be the 001 set.

Its 100 upside, 001 is a common numbering system in Ian Fleming stories.

I too talked to Seyberts and the Mouth Breather there said they would be charging between $700 and $800 per set...

Sites in Europe already have them up for pre-order and there selling for around $600 USD.

Clearly, some folks plan on gouging the shit out of this...
