Aramith 100 new ball set out tomorrow

"MY" main concern is that they would play different than the balls I shoot at the poolrooms I play in. (Also, I'm too old to be paying that kind of
money for a set of pool balls that I don't need.)

I too talked to Seyberts and the Mouth Breather there said they would be charging between $700 and $800 per set...

Sites in Europe already have them up for pre-order and there selling for around $600 USD.

Clearly, some folks plan on gouging the shit out of this...
I would have been interested in trying them in the 200-300 range but for 800 all I can do is laugh.......

At $600 I’m not sure I would ever use them. They would be more of a collectible or investment.
I bought a set of Centennials 15 years ago for around $250 and they have never been hit.
I‘m too old to invest in pool balls.
Now if the new material made them play better than my current super pro’s, maybe I would consider them.
Collectable or INVESTMENT??? N3ver take $$$$ advice from this ^^^^ guy lol

Rule number 1 for ALL levels of collecting:
Anything promoted and sold as "Collectible" absolutely isn't.

If you are in the market for a new set of pool balls and like these, they will almost certainly be fabulous to play and look really nice. 20+ years from now, you will likely still be enjoying them.

Are they bouncier? Cue ball exits would be 5 times stiffer than usual?
That may depend on how you measure bouncy. I don't think there's enough energy lost in the compression and rebound of billiard balls that you would ever notice. I suppose it is possible that the balls could be harder and the time of contact between the balls would be reduced, but I also doubt there is enough squish in any decent set of balls that anyone could notice. Assuming there is a noticeable difference between these and other balls, it is probably that the surface finish is more durable, or the anti-static properties reduce chalk sticking to the ball, perhaps eliminating some wear and scuffing, and reducing skids.

This seems likely but they promised advanced properties. At any rate, tougher coating is now a thing they can include at all price points.

At that price, they won't gouge often enough to wear their fingernails down any.

The best Aramith sets cost a lot more than what you had in mind.
Agreed, and if they were more like a traditional set like I first posted with the big numbers in the stripe and white circle around numbers I would be in. For this present design I lose interest at 300 to my door. They may be a bargain to some others, I was interested in the new technology but to me appearance wise they look like a 75.00 set, not a ~750.00 set. Beauty is definitely in the eyes of the beholder.

If I send them my old aramith set, will they recoat it for a fee.

My current set has a lot of sentimental value.

They were’t kidding when they said Limited.
Has anyone actually seen the Aramith100 ball set yet ?
We have heard conflicting dates of release...

Some folks have heard mid-August, and others have heard the beginning of October.

This is by far the worst product release I have seen outside of Segways. Congrats Aramith your marketing people are completely incompetent.
