Protruding side pocket facing

Didn’t notice it until long after the Diamond factory-pro mechanic had left, and didn’t think it serious enough then to warrant his returning to pull the rail. But, after a couple years of not being able to get a ball that is frozen to the rail to pass the pocket, I’m wondering if there is maybe some simple trick to moving back the facing, especially due to the fold in the rail cloth being so near (?). Possibly injecting a solvent with a syringe that temporarily softens the glue that holds the facing against the cushion?
The recover/level/etc. job otherwise was fine, but I DID buy all new cushions/Simonis cloth, and pay top dollar to Diamond, so the misaligned facing installation seems oddly inept (?). Even though years have past, if there IS a simple fix, maybe I should contact the factory and see if their installing crew might be passing my way in future (assuming Diamond still accepts any responsibility).

You'll want to pop the top off and remove the cloth from the end of the rail. If the facing has come loose, it will need to be re-glued, re-positioned, and then cleaned up. It's possible someone did a poor job of trimming the facing, that would be an easy fix with a sanding block.

I have to ask, was the mechanic's that worked on your Diamond, from the factory, or Diamond mechanic's local to you?

Reason I asked is because I know all the mechanic's working for the factory, and it's hard for me to believe one of them would have left a facing sticking out on a pocket, I could be wrong, stranger things have happened, which is why I asked.

All I know, is that I ordered the work from the factory cust. rep., and he sent the crew (that was traveling to/from other Indiana jobs).

Any chance of a pic :)
Wouldn’t know how to post one. Facing is solidly glued, aligned with the cushion, but protrudes 1/16-1/8”. Possibly the glue had not completely set yet when the rail was bolted tight against the pocket, and the facing gradually creeped out after the crew had gone (?).

I know who that is, when did the work get done, and your name?
Likely a month or two after the order was placed.
Unless Diamond was willing to send a mechanic by gratis to repair, don’t otherwise see the point in elaborating, though in that case the estimate # should suffice. Was just looking for any easy/simple fix before contacting them.
BTW: Just wondering, is Greg still associated? (I used to give him regular R&D feedback on the first ball return system).

I'd just like to know who did the work, and yes, Greg is still kicking around, we check on him once in a while 😅

AB is Aaron Berger
Contacted Aaron. Apparently, if you don’t notice a problem with their installation work within 90 days, you are SOL. Asked for the mechanic’s name, but no re: response yet (just a pitch to recover the whole table at a discounted price).
BTW: It occurred, that one simple fix might be (?), to carefully slice through the cloth where it is folded around the cushion/facing (near the slate/inside the pocket area), unfold it enough to access the facing point that protrudes past the cushion nose, slice off the protrusion, and then re-stretch/re-fold the cloth & staple (?) or superglue it against the facing (holding the stretch until it dries tight). What do you think?

Actually, I’m thinking contact cement might be a better choice for gluing stretched cloth to the hard rubber pocket facing (?).

I would find someone that can flip the rails over and pull the staples.
That likely WOULD be the correct procedure (in a perfect world). If your car uses too much oil, it’s more ‘correct’ to rebuild the engine rather than add an extra quart occasionally. For now, I’ll just avoid rail shots that pass the side pocket.
