Should Cuemakers show Their Cuemaker Tree Diagram???

Should Cuemakers show Their Cuemaker Tree Diagram

Not really. Only if they want to. Their name speaks for themselves.

oh my, isn't that the question we all ask ourselves.

I have found, over the years, that sometimes a cue -- because of its balance and feel (not the tip) -- is just... right. It's a very elusive thing and when you find a good one you should stick with it. To this day I remember going into The Palace late one night in SF and a guy walking up to me and offering a walnut merry widow cue with a SS joint. I screwed it together and I swear it just seemed to float in my hands when I got into shooting position. He wanted $50 and I was short on cash... still think about it.

damn it
I sold a sneaky pete cue I regret later ... Oak and Maple

I hear you. One of the easiest cues I've ever shot with was a dog brown colored Paul Huebler Merry Widow...might have been walnut, or a dull colored rosewood.
There was nothing special about the cue, certainly not the look. That being said, for whatever reason the damn thing just seemed like a Jedi Light-Saber.
Unfortunately, the cue belonged to a friend of mine, and he would never part with it. Ahh the ones that got away.

Here is a good diagram of a cue maker tree following the progression of the cue, although I may have gone a bit too far back.

All of the billions of years of getting to evolution of trees just ends up with the poor things being killed and placed in the hands of us dumb apes.

What manner of sorcery is this?

I am wondering how a cue maker would know this without hitting a ball? Just looking for some knowledge as to how that degree of certainty could be achieved off the pool table?
Thanks
The only metal Dieckman used was the the metal joint pin, everything else was natural balance with wood components ... and they were all Magik Wand... Surprised you don't see that many Dieckman Cues for sale!!!
