Carom safeties in 9 ball

Anybody ever explored carom-only safeties in 9 ball?

I.e. your cue ball must hit the object ball and an additional called ball for the safety to count. If you pocket the object ball, carom not needed.

Otherwise you can give the table back, or get ball in hand, or a spot shot, or whatever rule for a penalty you agree upon.

It keeps two way shots but clearly reduces the hooks pool players grumble about. Plus makes you better at precision safeties.

I’m liking it.

Anything that will tighten up ball control is a good thing.

Here's a drill:
Throw the cue ball and two more balls onto the table. The sole objective is to hit one ball and freeze on the other.

It's kinda like playing 3C on a pool table. I've done this drill before and it does tighten up CB control

That SVB, Deuel safety duel reminded me of the drill. If they were better versed in "coverless defense" they might have had better options.

I use to have a pratice partner and we use to use this game on a pool table. We would use the CB,1,3 and play billiards. If you pocketed a ball you would loose your turn and the ball would be spotted. Depending on the ball would be where it gets spotted per 3c rules.

Are you counting shots using the points on rails? Are those for ball first hits or rail first then ball contact?

Try to provide a full presentation of your unverified findings.
GFY, troll shidiot.

Lets look at this from a 10,000 mile birds eye view...

We are all adults inside on a nice day playing with balls like children.
