What is the best 2x3 case on the market?

I've been looking fairly hard for a new case recently. My problems with the JB rugged or two fold. I find the pocket style a minus, but the interior a massive plus. Literally everything else I've looked in falls infinitely short in comparison the JB liner. So while I dislike the pockets, the interior has me holding on to it.

Show me a 2x4 with a liner equal to the JB, and consider it sold.

Curious what you do not like about the pockets?

I love my 2x3 JB Rugged. It carries my player, a break cue and an extra shaft.
I can’t image why some players like to drag their entire cue collection around with them. I hate a heavy bag and don want to risk losing my stuff in the bars.

I like the JB GTF case. I have a 2x4 and and 1x2.

I also like the soft Silver Fox zipper case. You can stuff that case full of cues.

Capacity, access and organization. Now to be fair I only have personal exposure to using the standard 3 pocket rugged case. I know JB offers these odd bent velcro dividers that can be used to break up the large pockets, but it's a bandaid at best.

I borrowed a Predator Urban case for my recent road trip and it's not even a fair comparison. The well organized carrying capacity of the urban is light years ahead of anything I've seen from JB. Regardless, the storage on the rugged seems more like a necessary evil then a design consideration. I understand that JB will for the most part build what you want. If you want to topple down that rabbit hole.

Right now, I think the best option on the market is the Urban with the JB interior combo. Problem there is only my moral obligation to own nothing Predator...lol

Unless I can find something that compares to JB's interior and has decent secondary storage. I will not replace my rugged. I care more about my cues then a pocket to hold loose change.

Thanks for the feedback. I liked that I could specify exactly how I wanted the pockets on mine. Each pocket made to exactly fit what I planned to put in it. I ended up making my own Velcro strap downs so everything stays in place when the pocket it open but still easy to get everything. Good luck with whatever you decide.

I like how your large pocket butterflies open. The normal rugged doesn't do that.

You clearly spent some time dialing in your personal specs before getting the custom build done. I'm assuming you're not a jump cue kind of guy...?

Since I don’t do a lot of jumping. Most places I play right now do not allow it. I decided to have the smaller pocket so the chalk could be isolated. If it becomes a need I figured I could add a handle pocket to run up the side of the pockets and only have it when needed.

I have the 3x5 Urban and it has such great storage space that it's a pleasure. The bag is well made, and for about $220 it's hard to beat. The 2x3 is even less expensive.

Howdy All;

Bought a very nice Instroke Buffalo 2X3 earlier this year. Tad heavier then
those cloth Butterfly cases but solid and suites my needs. Justt my opinion.
