I took two pieces of New Crest chalk, slightly cakie but not as bad as damp Master chalk.
Both pieces came from a box of 144 that I purchased a few mths ago.

There was a difference.

One cube sat in the South facing window, real hot Colorado sun, easily over 100 for many days, not all tho.
Set another over the forced air heat vent.

The forced air heat vent chalk cube was a little drier than the other.

1 minute in the microwave at high and then let it sit for an hour cooling down.

I never did that before; I know some wizards are just more on the ball.
I'd sure enjoy match play tho, with someone that knows so much, I'd be able to learn allot more.
Are you going to go to Vegas Westgate/ACS event in May 2024?
If so let's play some cheap $100 sets.
I'd enjoy it.
I'm 75 and you could take advantage of my Old spare change.

Have a great Thanksgiving.

PS I know you'll likely have a great excuse to not play.
I've heard allot of barkin' in my day.
Have at it. 🦃
