Entry refusal

Be careful trying to figure stuff out in China, your head might explode. I just got done sending in photocopies of the BLANK pages of my passport so they can work on my 2023 Chinese taxes.

Never mind the fact that the taxes are filed under the wrong passport number, that didn’t bother them in the least. It’s the fact that they didn’t have copies of any blank pages.

Now, I don’t have any blank pages in that passport, so I had to grab a different passport and make copies of a few blank pages - they now appear to be happy.
This doesn't make any sense but sounds typical - like you'd see in Monty Python. Hope you got t worked out.

I doubt it's racism. Pool players, everywhere in the world, the better they get, the less opportunities they have. Its the way it is.
Wait. You said pool players?
Circle the wagons!

I thought the UK was the land of pointless bureaucracy, but you’re right on this 😂 sometimes it’s a head scratch

Unfortunate, but try to take it as a compliment, as obviously he has a high opinion of your game. Handicapped tournament or not, we always welcome higher skilled players to play in our tournaments, as it’s a learning experience for the regulars.
Don’t learn anything unless we play better players… that’s what dad always said when he was having me fetch the balls from pockets playing snooker 😂

Racism happens, in every single country on this planet (none excepted). But the OP shouldn't figure that's the primary reason based on conjecture. Money is the issue 9 times out of ten. Want to get to the root of most problems, follow the money.
Think you hit the nail on the head, I also think it’s also ego. To have winner from the ‘group’ of established local players.

better players can always find action. but they dont as they really dont know how well they play compared to weak players,
who would love to get ten to five in one pocket or the 5 and breaks in 9 ball. but get offered a small fraction of those kind of spots from players that win almost every game.

I can imagine that three of the regulars in the room, who feel they play at or a little under the "stranger's" speed, went to the owner and asked him why he is giving away "their" money to a stranger. Since they spend hundreds of dollars there....

Idk that I would be considered a better player or not but I’m not a gambler. I play because I like to play. I have a table at home so I never really go to a pool room just to play. However when I did go to pool rooms and practice I spent hours upon hours playing with weaker players for fun. I wasn’t trying to take anyone’s money.

The last time I did gamble I was at a tournament and this guy asked to play a set for 500 and I said no thanks. He ask again and my buddy told me “play him I’ll put up the money” We played 2 sets and I played terrible but we split the sets and just called it even but if we continued he had very little chance of winning.

About 3 or 4 months ago a guy told me he would like to play me some for 50 a game. I told him no even though he had absolutely no chance of winning. My Fargo is almost 100 points higher than his. Maybe I am wrong and he could win if we played but I just politely told him no thanks.

I feel it’s a mixture of a few things combined. Like a few others suggested. Try to take positives from it.
So you’ve played with a couple few guys from this room and feel like you shouldn’t be shunned.

Have you considered that maybe they don’t want to deal with childish hot head antics?

They’ve got no trouble filling spots. It’s not that you’re a foreigner. It’s that they think you’re an asshole.

Why give a spot to somebody who will act like that?

Childish hot head antics? :ROFLMAO: I just told the guy never mind let’s play again sometime and see. Act like what? Not sure what you’re on about.

You’ve stated on here several times in the past that you have a short temper at the table and that you can act out when you’re not playing well.

Well, maybe one of those couple few guys from that room witnessed one of these episodes and they decided that they don’t have time for people who are gonna act like like.

Seems as likely as it being the color of your skin.

😂 I would say I’m still pretty tame compared to some... Apart from one guy, the people I know there have all been met through pretty chilled tournament play in a different event.
I’d say my temperament is getting better, and something probably more noticeable to me than others. I’d also say, pretty certain it’s not the reason.
You’re right as it’s just as likely, as is any other reason… I’ll play the guy when I’m back. It’s no biggie. Was just curious about it. As it’s never happened to me before.

I live in China, sometimes things aren’t always so ‘foreigner friendly’ (don’t think my race comes into it in the conventional sense, ‘foreigner’ is the issue more than a specific Identity) - I didn’t want to push all that hard, as some friends who are a similar speed to me who entered. I don’t want to cause anyone an issue. Just wanted to play a competitive game before going home, away from American tables for a month or so.
I just asked the guy if he wanted to play me sometime and assess for himself.
Never been excluded from anything before, so was trying to figure it out.
Question.... Why can't I buy a house in China but you can buy a house here?
NOW THAT'S FRIGGIN RACIST!!!

So there was a tournament today that has been scheduled for over a month. Since I don’t have Facebook I had my son send a message and ask if I could play. I got the answer I expected which was no I wouldn’t be allowed to play. No big deal.

Today I’m sitting around watching some free streams on YouTube. Decide to go check out the bracket on the tournament that I wasn’t allowed to play in. There’s 2 players in the tournament with a higher Fargo than mine. There’s 2 more players that are within 5 points of me.

You have brought this up a few times but it sounds like they aren't letting you play because you don't have enough games in the system not because you are too good or rated too high. Big difference as no one wants someone coming in robbing their tournaments when their rating is not established.
