Biloxi Pool Rooms

I waited to see what someone else might have . . . but here goes:
This is a sad, and too common, story. It has been nearly 50 years since Biloxi had a legitimate pool room (this is why I obsess on subject of pool halls closing) but we Coast players did have Jim Bob's in Gulfport. Last I knew it was called Suzie Cues. Jim Bob's had well maintained tables, good food, and owners who understood and cared about pool and pool players. Most importantly, there was a group of players who coalesced to make JB's their home away from home. But then, Jim Bob's got sold and changed names and business models probably 3 or 4 times over 10 - 15 years. Every step taken has been downward.

Bunpers is across the Bay in d'Iberville and not worth the drive across the bridge.

You will find the Coast's better players at Buffalos in NOLA.

Buffalo has just bought Lacy's recently too. Between the expansion of his own hall and Lacy's I suspect he is hopping. A little advance warning can set up small, medium, or large action last I knew. A little more warning might be needed if you want to supersize the bet.

A couple plusses, the expansion and Lacy's are both nonsmoking. Good food and entertainment in the area, hard to go wrong. I think the thing to do is load up Biloxi Boy to ride shotgun and come on down!

I was in there a few times 80s /90s….Kim Steel tables….didn't mind Fast Frankie’s in Slidell either.

Love the Kim Steels. Diamonds have been added. Always been a bunch of bar boxes. Despite the hardware, pool does not seem to be as important as it should be, but like most, the present owners are doing their best to keep the doors open. In the good old days, there is no question bookmaking provided substantial subsidies to the pool rooms. Today, I would never open a room to make money, but what a way to blow part of one's lottery winnings. It is a damn shame that our wonderful sport cannot support the very rooms upon which our sport grew. Without our rooms, we are truly approaching the "antiseptic, lily-white vision of pool" about which Garczar rails.

Two Sister's is now the spot in Slidell.

It's a long shot but I'm trying to touch base with Shorty who was at Lamberts in Baton Rouge when Flayboy was playing everyone. Shorty and I played 9 Ball for 22 hours straight. Thanks!
