helluva break by ding. but ronnie was by far the better player. must be frustrating for ding, 20 years ago when he first played he was knocked out by ronnie, now 20 years later the same boogeyman is around and still beating him
 
so impressed by mark allen's composure and grit in beating selby. made a 147 along the way, adding to the list of non-english players to achieve that at the masters (i guess it could be argued that he is the first brit to make a 147 at the masters but i don't want to dwelve on sectarian/national identity). the runout at the end was one of the most clutch i've ever seen.

masters still has a rowdier crowd than the other big events but it's not as nativist as it used to be. scottish and chinese players are not booed or taunted. much better now
 
thrilling. standard has gone down from the afternoon session and first half of the evening session which were brilliant. maybe pressure, maybe age/stamina. but still high quality. rooting for ali
