Diamond Table Light Restoration Project - Input Greatly Appreciated

I've tried LED strips in the rail gutters.

I wanted to try to improve the diamond system programming the kicking system into the led strips.
LED strips go on table and then you push buttons to orient and it lights up targets.

I am suggesting more bounce lighting for specific camera angle effects. I like bouncing light of the ground because direct light is overexposed in digital processing,

You're gonna love them, whatever you do, don't touch the inside with your fingers. Once you put a finger print on them it's there for life. I promise you won't return them
Do they fit under the light? For example in a drop ceiling application do they sit on the metal ceiling straps, and then the light just sits on top of the grate?

Edit: do you think they’d work with the flush mount kit I showed a few posts back? It’s made to simulate the drop ceiling straps.

Thanks for the pro tip. I'm assuming these cut easily. I'll have to cut them to length to properly fit my fixture once I determine if I'm keeping them. I trimmed my egg crates easily with wire cutters.
yes, they cut easily on a bandsaw or table saw

The ones I have were made to sit in a drop ceiling panel. I altered it but it can be used that way

I haven’t tried cutting them, but I think you’ll need to use a power saw to avoid cracking/splintering them. Their plastic seems harder/more brittle than egg crate diffuser plastic.

Well...... Things have taken quite a turn here. A local shop has what is essentially a mint Gold Crown light. I cant pass on it. They were already in the process of doing an LED conversion.... The T8 ballasts are gone. So, that's going to get here next Wednesday.

Nice find. My favorite pool room had those over 20 GC4’s. They look way better than the boxy Diamond light.

You'll surely get your money back or better, once the Diamond is repaired and cleaned up.
I suppose I should stay the course and finish up the project. Wood work/repair is complete......but I wonder if I should just keep the fluorescent bulbs in there and let another owner do the swap. This way I don't have to tie up too much more into it. The GC light was not cheap as it were. But man, it's sweet....and the LED conversion is complete:

Awesome!

Sell the Diamond as-is. Don’t waste another second on it.

If the fluorescent bulbs are working, I'd say just sell it as-is. The LED conversion would add value, but unless you've got a bunch of extra time, I don't think it ends up being a lot more money.

Looks great! Are you planning to add parabolic louvers?
