Colored noise ……..

I was reading the thread where some players like to use headphones while they play and listen to music. Instead of music has anyone experimented with the different colored noises I see advertised all the time? You know …..

White noise - blocking unwanted environmental sounds around you

Brown noise - aids in concentration

Pink noise - calming effect

Green noise - to block unwanted brain chatter

I know some people listen to colored noise while they sleep but I’ve been hearing where some players are using it while they play. Maybe music sometimes and then switching to a colored noise for awhile before their match .. not sure. Just curious if anyone has experimented with it for pool?
Even if you’re not allowed to use headphones during play, I wonder if it would be beneficial for a few minutes before your match?
Thanks!

personally, I didn't know there were different-colored "noises"
have you tried experimenting with the noises, or with other sounds/music?
when I listen to music I like while I play, I feel like if anything, I play better. at least, it hurts less when I miss?😋😁

I see it advertised and I’ve heard about other players using it but I’ve never tried it

They have something that supposed to be better called noise masking. It's purpose seems to be making voices unintelligible. I'd think that may be helpful, except when you're playing rotation and your opponent is being nice enough to tell you that you are shooting at the wrong ball.

I tried them and for some reason they just ended up making me shoot faster and faster. It was weird. They kinda stressed me out. Like the exact opposite of what they’re supposed to do, but that’s the case for me on a lot of different things. I like to listen to audiobooks or podcast lately. They help detach my mind from what I’m trying to do on the table. It slows me down and keeps me concentrating on something besides my bad puz and hard shots.

When I gamble, I don’t mind my opponents wearing headphones….I want to hear the sound of the balls and rails being hit….
……those headphones are depriving my opponent of valuable information.
…..but I tell them that if you don’t hear me call ‘push’ or ‘you’re on two’ you won’t be winning that argument.

I'd like some paisley-n-seafom green noise. ;) I've never used 'fones while playing and i won't play with someone that does. About as bad as playing someone addicted to their fkng cell.

Yeah that’s why I was wondering if some players might use them before the match .. kind of annoying when they wear them while they’re playing I agree
