$1000 entry 564 and under finals

It was 564 and under at time of sign up and then they provided a 10point cushion if peoples ratings went up after sign up. So 574 was the max, if anyone raised above that they would be refunded. Makes sense to me assuming you have sign up a ways before the actual event.

They explain it at some point in that video
Got it, that makes sense. Thanks!

And if I recall the discussion correctly, all the Salotto games are public, so anyone running the tournament should be able to check entries before accepting them, to see if there was an obvious dumping trend
another ive seen at 629 last year was at 603 two weeks ago trying to make this 599 and under tournament coming up

guess where hes at now?

all these players i mention have 900 robustness or more

Interesting. And shady behavior.

It would be nice if Fargo could somehow flag accounts for suspicious activity like that. Accounts that go up and down by significant margins in relatively short and active periods of time. Just something to give tournament directors a sign that maybe they should look a little closer at someones history

Enter every small local tournament and lose it all then go out of town and win
Then dog salotto matches to guys 100 points lower
It’s literally on the public games played lmao
You can definitely do that. But you’d have to do it from the start, like a 6 month long Jack Cooney master hustle.

What you’re saying of moving up and down 50 points at a whim is simply not possible, unless the robustness is like 30.

im not saying they are going up at all
im saying ive looked at local players fargos for several yrs and these certain players have dropped 50and more, not at once of course not but over time, if you just lose and lose everything reported, how does it not go down?

do you believe a 560 would lose a race to 10 to a 424?
why else even do a saoltto match if not for that purpose to drop the rating?

No, not really possible. Maybe 1 out of 100 sets if the better player kept dogging the 9 and hanging it. Which is certainly possible at 560 speed.

My point is even if the player dumped intentionally, it would have a tiny affect on the rating unless the player has low robustness. You were talking about 900 robustness. I think if a player dumped 10 salato matches in a row 10-0 (and was not caught) the rating would only move about 10 points max.

exactly
slowly over a a yr or more of dogging intentionally its gonna drop more, because there are reported small tournaments to do this at as well, its gonna add up

i doubt theres a sandbagging task force looking over every reported league and small tournament match. with all those ways to dog it how can you deny its possible?

Think that issue Is a relatively small one, who wants to light a bunch of entry fees on fire or waste a bunch of time to maybe possibly win a tournament later.
Also, having random number caps instead of always 600 650 e.t.c helps eliminate this motivation
You can also dog league games for free
when your a sub
the captain usually covers the fees for that player if it’s not A regular team member

Even if you light a 10 dollar bill on fire for a tournament fee, dont you think you could get a game and win that back atleast if not more on the side after?

Yes, for sure.

It is definitely playing the "long game" type of hustle. If a player did the math, the juice would not be worth the squeeze.
perhaps, but i im sure they dont mind dropping crumbs here and there for a big score out in the sticks, winning good money at pool is a major high

I personally know players that had their legit Salotto matches removed because of the score line .vs. the combatant's ratings. Those that claim this level of fargo manipulation are likely repeating hearsay from unreliable sources.
I've known the same that has happened to players. Along with the threat of being barred from the Fargo system. Makes it real hard to steal those tournaments if you're not allowed to have a Fargo rating.
