I have been using mezz cues for about a year now. I think they are great cues, quality is second to none.
Just curious why they are so hard to find. Seems the only places that have them are mezz usa
and j&j america, both great people to work with. I currently own 6 mezz cues. Again they just
seem hard to find.

Mezz offers very little $ incentive for dealers to carry them - a minimal wholesale / dealer price break below the $ retail price - only like 15%. It used to be better 5-10 years ago, but has just kept getting less and less profitable in recent years for most dealers to bother stocking them. I assume they are successful in selling virtually all the cues they are able to make regardless of shortchanging their dealers.

You have 6 of them...Apparently they're not that hard to find. ;)

I just ordered mine straight from Mezz USA I got toired of looking for a discount or deal with the used market.

They don't give a shit about the US market at all. You should see what the dealers in Germany for example have. Rows of LE runs, exceeds etc. They also have an embargo on other dealers outside the USA sending cues to us. I had to smuggle one in using a family member in England as the middle man.

Always been a fan of Mezz 🤩

Mezz is by far the best production cues on the market, and you are right, they are harder and harder to come by, lead times is now six months to a year for some models and some cues are simply unavalable. I had Miki san visit me last summer and I asked about this and he said that demand is much higher than what they are able to produce, so this situation will likely not change in the near future. In the 7 or 8 years I've been a Mezz dealer, I have yet to see a faulty product! and they still make cues with real exotic woods and real inlays, no thin veneers or metallic paint and painted on points.
I'm very proud to be representing Mezz and Exceed cues.

Its all relative, they are hard to find a selection compared to say Joss, Meucci, or predator. Dealers
that list them show mostly sold out.

I have four Mezz cues, which were all bought from Mezz USA. Mezz shows up a little bit on the used market, but seem to hold their value very well as they are quite scarce.

You definitely don’t see too many folks shooting with a Mezz in the local APA or BCA leagues. For me Mezz are the best sub $1k cues out there, but your miles may vary of course.

I have 4 Mezz Exceed cues, and I’m looking for a 5th. Three purchased from J&J Cues and one ordered from Mezz USA, 1 inch extra long butt, which took 2 1/2 years to fill, and Mezz USA is no longer taking any orders.

The price on the simplest model Exceed cues has virtually doubled in the last five years from $1500 to now no less than $3000, and they are extremely hard to find even at that price.

I play with a cheap Mezz Axi. It's poor man's ebony. Black painted Maple.

Since I shifted to the CF shaft which is an Ignite, I have played with the Mezz and their extension.

My expensive custom cues have been sitting in their cases.

The Axi has a big pin and a wood joint.

The thing about Mezz is you can play with the weight and the balance.

My cue is over 66 inches and I took the 1.5 ounce weight bolt out.

I think it's about 20.50 ounces.

What I like about this set up is I don't worry about dings like you do with a custom.

The Exceed cues are beautifully crafted. This is reflected in the prices and lead-time, I guess. I only own Mezz standard production cues - they are a bit of a bargain, I think.

This cue: https://mezzusa.com/collections/ec9-series/products/ec9-n-billiard-cue is a lot of cue for under 600bux. Wrapless versions are avail. too. I've got a plain black AXI-K myself and they are very well made cues.

Word.

When I was on the hunt for an upgrade to my old Falcon, I test hit everything I could get my hands on. Eventually considered going down the risky road of custom. Until of course I hit my first Mezz (Exceed). I made the drive just for sake of crossing it off my list as "testers". Ended up pulling out the near 4k on the spot. Hit is completely subjective, but between it and the craftsmanship. It's worth every penny.

I'm guessing the word on the brand has gone mainstream and they simply can't fulfill orders. Imagine a production SW but actually worth the money...lol

I’d take the poor route any day of the week, the only thing ebony does better than maple is elevate the seller or cuemakers bank account. Yeah it’s cool looking but any cuemaker that is just as knowledgeable on the table as they are on a lathe will say maple plays better. I have very few cues built anymore but I 100% will never have another ebony one done. That’s just an opinion but it’s one I’ve heard from many over the years…
