Las Vegas Open

Nah that’s the format. It’s set up just like if players were gambling.

Sometimes with multiple sets the one who wins the most loses money. Most people who gamble have given up on a set sometime or another then won the next 1 or 2. The players don’t care about games won, because only the set matters

It’s like a reset. It’s 4-1 race to 5. Would you rather still be behind 4-2 if you won another game or be up 1-0 in the next set after you allow them to take it then win the next game? Now they are playing from behind. I’d personally rather not play from behind. It’s strategy

This is faulty logic and put quite frankly how losers think.

The players in the event knew what the format was and still chose to play so there’s that. But, yeah I’m sure every single one of them would rather just play a normal longer set if they were asked anonymously knowing their answer would never be released to sponsors.

I believe SVB and a few others have voiced their opinions when these formats first started. The players really have no choice but to play.

I'm enjoying the tournament. Great levels of play but the format is fucking stupid. Pardon my language. Watching Cheska and Seoa, they go to a third set which goes double hill now it's a shootout. Just plain fucking stupid.
In the movies, they end up with some intense bonding.

I once asked myself what was better? Conforming my stance to the requirements of pool or rethinking pool to cOnfoRm to my existing stance. ??? :IDK:

Predator trying to do the impossible...

Did not understand a word of that but ok. I applaud Predator for putting these tournaments on. It's great for the players. Monetarily, and experience. I would encourage people to support Predator. Just do something about that format. It's no good for no one.

Basically Centeno ( who I was pulling for) lost 13-11 but won the match because of a shootout. Not fair.

And she takes it down! I was rooting for her too. I like the way she shoots, fast and loose, that's how I like to play also. Not a fan of watching robots.

May I also say that it was an all wood final. If you know you know.

I saw that too and thought it was awesome.

You mentioned not caring for the format. Granted they are doing their level best to make a pile marketing pool with this new - oh wait, nevermind.
Anyway, marketing pool by spoon feeding the public is what I was talking about. What baby likes is more like medicine to the staunch poolists.
The problem as I see it is selling stuff nobody wants in the first place. Not an enviable task.

I know people seem to like it and will defend it but I agree. early on when you do a shoot out after 2 sets I guess I get to speed things up but if your going to do 3 sets just play it out. No need for the shoot out. I guess predator thinks it generates pressure but I’m not a fan.

She is definitely a true player. Very creative. A little too quick on the draw but this time it worked out. But yes very fast and loose.

and her banking game is brilliant. very instinctive and natural, like earl in his prime. no need to walk around the table five times. i hope some of the slow ass male players gets a hint!

Tennis has been like this for decades. You’ll see quite often a player tank the set in tennis if they’re down 2 breaks and reserve the energy for the next set.

Do I like this for pool? I’m not there yet, but it’s growing on me.

Similar to any fast player, you’d like them to slow down, but that’s not their game. In the end, she’s deservingly the champion, she’s on a roll with other big wins, and she’s getting better every time I watch her.

I think CF is the future, but I took out my old shafts for my Schuler and was happier with my game than I’ve been in a long time.
