Us 10 ball out of griffs ..nice reminder for the match room complainers

Rob, I appreciate your point of view but the fact remains that there are at least 12-15 major poolroom tournaments held in this country every year, which attract top fields of pool talent. Typically you are looking at anywhere from ten to twenty thousand in added monies. Usually they pair a big One Pocket tourney with either a 9-Ball or Ten Ball event. Winning players are walking away with some nice five figure scores and the Calcutta payouts go through the roof! Money is flowing in these events, high rollers abound and there is non stop action! As for me I love these events and wish I could attend more. Each one is a like a mini version of DCC, with no holds barred. I call it Old School Pool!
I call svb having to wait while and idiot in an electric scooter goes by the table a step
Backwards. Do you see snooker players playing in these conditions. Nope. We will have to agree to disagree I guess

We are not snooker and with God’s good graces never will be.

but it's apples and oranges. these are mainly niche games. neither MR nor any other big production company is ever gonna pick up banks, one pocket etc. so pool rooms it is, and it seems to me this room is one of the best

The cameras and production quality is excellent. The commentary is GREAT…Collins, Molina, and Fedor! It’s a half step below Matchroom but with 1/100th the cost to setup and completely free for all of us spectators. And we got digitalpool for the bracket which is the absolute best.

There is nothing to complain about and this is not a step back for pool. This is perfect.

I agree.....That should never happen in a US Open event....poor guy just did not have a clue........Unfortunately....you have to look no further than people driving on the streets.....I drove a box truck for 15 years.....By my calculations.....80% if the people driving on the road are pretty much ignorant.....I always refer to the term..."Ignorance is bliss"......Well...there are a lot of "blissful" drivers on the road just going on with their blissful lives.......It is up to the 20% to look out for them

I would be fine with the event at a place like Griffs....I get the "pool room" feel thing.......But the organizers should put some forethought into a professional level pool tournament hosting the best players the world has to offer....... and also learn from past events and put things like (roped off tables) in place for the players and spectators to be kept separate.

It does not have to be in a big casino arena type setting........But extra measures can be taken to set it up for a Pro event.

Fedor is great, the quiet announcer is fine, I find the other guy to be borderline unbearable. For how much he shows himself on screen you would think he would shampoo.

Are there any other commentating teams handling this tournament?

Would anyone want an AI that does voices and the promotion team sells you a chance to make the AI say what you want it to say?

Imagine there is a a guest AI commentary. I pay as a fan or sponsor for the AI to say: Feed migrating birds, teach them to recognize wild food that is safe to eat.

Or it could say play billiards at ... This way its not flooded with ads.
Or it could do a long winded story disguised as an ad.

They need to monetize commentary better.

Nobody would want that. It wouldn't be flooded with ads? It would be an ad.

Agreed, there will always be room for the pro events held in poolrooms. They are part of pool's landscape and shall remain as such.

I hope this is the last we are seeing of this kind of pro tournament Because I for one never want to go back.
I hope it's not. I happened to be there yesterday, and got to play a chip tournament while the 10 ball was going on. How f**king cool is it to be able to watch the pros play up close and personal while you're playing pool yourself? I also was able to talk to some pros, and also with Collins and Molina Mike. It was awesome.

Yup.. drove box trucks for lowes and now drive a truck for frito lay and you are 100% on point. People are oblivious to the world. I was always taught to pay attention to my surroundings and other people. If I didn’t look behind me as I was going through a door to make sure I didn’t need to hold it because someone could Be right behind my grandpa would have put his foot up my ass. 😂 sadly doesn’t seem taught anymore.
