Rhino carbon fiber

For the $160 that I paid for my rhino, I'm very pleased personally. Everyone's mileage will vary, obviously. But I'm the kind of guy that would pay for a Corolla rather than a Lexus.

If failure rates show over time that a product is inferior, then that is another matter.

It looks like the hit that ended the shaft was way off center, probably a miscue. I would bet the cueball never touched the table after the hit.

That is the problem with thin walls with foam in the center. The thin wall is great for bending and axial compression, but not for side impact.

CF really isn't the miracle material it has been made out to be for this application.

The cue ball didn’t leave the surface. I only noticed the damage because the sound it made.

The warranty consideration prob sees the incorrect use as the likely reason it broke. An easy finding for them.

Unfortunate. Find out how much to get it fixed right. I'd throw a $20 to the cause and likely a few others would contribute too.

I have 3 rhino shafts and maybe I'll need to know about repairing one or three some day.
 
I have a friend tinkering with it now. I can say after seeing the construction on a broken one they are poorly constructed. I just want the AZ community to be aware these are essentially disposable with that short a warranty. I’ve had no issues with the playing shaft so far. The break shaft, in my opinion, needs design tweaking.

Could you please explain what poorly constructed means, could be different for everybody.
 
I expect if the playing shafts are poorly constructed as well then I’ll find out eventually.

That's every cf shaft. I doubt there are four people on this site who have the expertise to say whether a cf part is well made. That includes me and I might not be able to tell, even after working as an engineer for a company that is a world leader in cf part automation in the aerospace industry.
 
I’ve seen the inside a few a Revo and Cynergy. Based on my layman’s knowledge of cf they’re much sturdier.

I bought one of these Rhino shafts cuz the price was right to try something new. It's been good so far. However, for playing....wood is good. I guess I'm one of the few fools out there still throwing lumber at spheres.

That's cool. I kinda wish I believed it were better. Maybe I'm biased because of my experiences in other industries.

I love wood, tho. I love white maple, I love brown maple, I love sugar marks and other blemishes.
