Whyte carbon 3 different types & smoothness.

It is difficult for me to try these out as there's no dealer for this shaft where I live, so I must order it overseas. Please I need your help!

There are three different types of whyte.

1) pearl (color is very bright white).
2) whyte carbon wood grain (looks like wood but CF).
3) normal black whyte carbon fiber.

Hear me out please, I am a revo user...tried gocustom, tried cynergy, tried jacoby cf and ignite....I've tried all and I wanted to try this whyte shaft...so I ordered the pearl whyte.

For me smoothness is everything, because I am a sweaty guy and I don't like using gloves, period. Thats why I went to CF route because wooden shafts require powder or gloves, unless a guy is slick and doesn't sweat its a different story but for me wood make squeeking sound as I stroke because of the dirt & how wood grains are.

So for me, these are my summery about the shafts.

1) Revo was the best as its very smooth without GLOVE and good to play with.
2) Ignite almost as smooth, cueing with this and revo too doesn't make any sound with my hand.
3) Gocustom, this one is the smoothest of them all, it goes really really amazing on the hands and doesn't make one sound, love it.
4) Cynergy, not as smooth as the first three shafts but it is a little smooth, but not as much as the previous ones as I still hear little sound as i'm cueing and moving it with closed bridge.
5) when I ordered Pearl from Whyte, I was very disappointed because there's a feeling as if you're cueing over some paints. Its not smooth at all and makes all type of sounds that i heard when i used wood.

Sorry for the long post but here I am asking about the other two types from whyte, the wood grain & the normal black...Do they have the same surface as the Pearl? Or are they smoother than it? If you guys tried them all please let me know because I want to replace my pearl whyte with another whyte if its smoother.

By the way if you're a glove user then you wont be able to tell a whole lot of difference as everything is smooth to you.

Since you are a Revo user, get a Whyte Carbon Raw play shaft.

It will feel just like the Revo in the "smooth" department.

The Whyte Carbon Raw has classic carbon smoothness.

I own the Pearl, and you do need a glove to play with it. Not as smooth as carbon or regular wood for that matter.

Why buy one? I love the look of a white shaft, paired with a dark butt. Never liked that ALL carbon shafts were black (you can choose any color you want so long as it's black ...).

How does it play? About as well as any other carbon shaft I've tried. Makes a slightly nicer sound than my older Cuetec Cynergy.

Thanks for the info, didnt know that raw feels just like revo its good option...I just as you liked the white pearl because I have a white cue...

So what about the wood grain? does it also feel like paint? or smooth?

I "think" the wood grain is some sort of dipping process in a tank that has a decal floating in the tank that wraps around the shaft. I think I remember seeing something like that in one of their marketing posts. I don't think it's paint. I have no idea if that would make it smoother than paint.

I may be completely misremembering this...

My dayjob company 20 years ago used to do this to make plastic parts look like wood parts. It wasn't really a decal, more like a very thin film.

I played with the wood grained shaft for a bit, felt pretty smooth, better than the white version.

Coated/painted shafts suck. Only one i've liked is the Avid, its coated but doesn't feel like others.

Avid has a nice, very smooth coating. Wish the Whyte Pearl felt the same. But it looks great and plays like any other carbon shaft.

Hydro-dip is what your thinking of

can someone compare the whyte wooden grain versus the raw black? in terms of smoothness, how do they compare? (if you've tried both)

Call Seyberts. One of their people should be able to tell you. Haven’t seen anyone with that shaft. Just the Pearl and Raw Carbon. And can’t find any info on the web.

Turns out the Whyte Pearl is smoother than I thought. Wiped with water and dried and it was definitely slicker. Guess it was dirty but I couldn't tell by looking. Still not as slick as carbon or the bonded fiberglass used in the Avid, but smoother nonetheless.

This might be asking too much, but please can you do me a favor and call them on my behalf? I live very far away in Dubai & the call would cost alot of $$ per minute.

If you do this i'd appreciate it, but I understand if you don't want to thats fine.

Called Seyberts. The Whyte Wooden grain shaft has a coating of sorts like the Whyte Pearl and will have pretty much the same smoothness, or lack thereof, I was told.

Given your preferences, you might to take a look at the Lucasi Pro Carbon Infuzed that Oscar Dominguez plays with. I think there is a 10% discount tied to the use of his name.
