Hello,
I appreciate your time if at all possible; I am looking for some information on Adams lower line Stamboulini. I am well aware that there is no such cue as a stamboulini but I have a few questions if anyone knows.
First of all I purchased a julio 4 in 1976 and have kept it since. I played many games of pool with it and always broke with it. It has stayed pretty straight for being 44 yrs. old.
I was reading that Adams came out with a line of these in the 80's and again in the 90's. It was also written that all of these cues were signed. Purchased mine in 1976 and I haven't done any refinish work at all and it has never had a signature on it. It's conflicting information is the reason that I am inquiring and I know that it is a cheap cue. Thank you in advance if you may have any information, Thank you

First off its "ADAM" not Adams. Pretty good stick for the money.

I believe the Adam cue company made the cues and did not put the name on everyone of them so they could be sold differently. You will find the same design, but no signature. The same for the Rempe Line of cues

Yeah you're right there was never a cue called Stamboulini. Oh wait.

Julio Stamboulini is the great grandfather of the world renowned cue maker Ling Chou Lucasi who now works in China.
Italian cue makers go back quite far.

I wish ADAM still made cues in Japan like they did before. Not the Musashi lines, just the styles from 10-20 years back.

So Adam cues were always made in Japan? Huh, didn't know that
I know this is an old thread, but they weren’t. Adam Japan started getting cues built in China (Universal Cue aka Taican Cues) around ‘98 because of economics. Adam Japan was getting contract manufactured cue work since its inception, but mostly from Japan prior to ‘98 out of the Miki (Mezz) Cue shop (who inexplicably signed an exclusivity contract to make them only an Adam Cue manufacturer).

Adam hasn’t been making Adam production cues for the US market in Japan or anywhere since 2011. The Balabushka Cue Company acquired the rights to Adam in the USA in 2011.

Even this is misleading. Miki was a contract cue builder for Adam Japan. Adam Japan in Saitama themselves had been the primary cue building outfit. I think a lot of people think that all Adam Japan cues were built by Miki/Mezz. That is not true. They were a contractor who agreed that every cue they built had to be marketed as an Adam Cue. but Saitama were building cues all along. The Balabushka Signature cues started in Adam Japan in Saitama before the contract build of those lines were moved to Universal.

A month or so ago I bought a Biagio cue for $130 in great condition.
I have heard of Biagio and always thought they were a distributor line made by Adam Japan in the '80's.
Am I correct?

I only know of Biago Cues from Crystal Leisure. I recall that Crystal Leisure contracted the build out to different production companies, so any Biago would have to be examined closely to see who built it. Could be Joss, Adam, etc.

Adam is still making cues in Japan. Some of them are very high end even by any of today's standards. Most of what we see here in the U.S. are made in china or Korea. very decent for the price, but nothing like what they are doing in Japan.

Any quick way to tell if mine is an Adam or Joss?
I've seen a lot of Adam cues and mine just has that look.

Photo? I want to say that any Joss-built Biagio actually says Joss on it.
Mine just says Biagio on it.
I worked part time for several years in a large pool room(36 Gold Crowns) and sold a lot of Adam cues and mine just has that look.

Years ago I picked up a Joss cue that was made for chrystal leisure and it had the Joss name on it.
There were pictures of the chrystal leisure brochure on the Joss archives web site.
I've since sold it.
