Extension

i have not read any posts
maybe this is what you are looking for

The concern isn't adding the weight of the extension the concern is my current weight bolt is pretty much aluminum and hollow so it weighs next to nothing. If I remove that and put in a 2" weight bolt for the extension to attach to it will add 1.5oz to my cue shooting without the extension just because of the difference in the weight of the bolts.
Why put a weight bolt in. Remove what is there use an extension kit. If the threading is different a cue maker or repair guy can put a phenolic insert in for it.

They come in different threads and lengths. The two I have are only 0.3 and 0.4 oz.

The weight bolt on the left is for my schons, or any other cue that uses a similar one. It has a threaded hole in the center to attach bumper. It weighs .185 oz.This one has been cut back some for my wifes cue as it was heavy.
The one with a bumper is for my Jacoby, weighs .3 oz.

Yes we have tried this it’s not an option the bolt that is in there currently holds my Delrin butt cap on, so in order for something to work it would have to A hold my Delrin butt cap in place but also extend the length of my butt cap so I can attach the extension. If this was just a simple solution it would be done already and I wouldn’t be here looking for solutions

Pictures would help. What is the thread of the weight bolt.

If the thread is 3/8", weight bolts are available, probably similar to yours in weights anywhere from .2 oz on up that also include a threaded hole for a bumper. There also are bumpers with the weight bolt built in starting at .35 oz, for attaching extensions to. My pictures show examples of those two.
It might be actually simple, and then again it may not be, and we are trying to help you, but until we see a picture and thread size of your weight bolt there is not much more we can do.
Also, did you ever contact Rick Roper?

Yes I found him and reached out, had him speak with my cue repair guy and going to call him later today.

This would work if the bolt was 2.5in long and was hollow aluminum so it wouldn’t add to much weight.

I, too, had a bumper that screwed into the weight bolt. i removed it, then plugged the butt of the cue with a dowel. I tapped threads in the dowel to match up with my extension bumper, then grinded down a bolt to fit through the bumper and screw into the weight bolt. It works just fine.

Extensions only need to push. Seems to me the interface could be a light and unobtrusive multi prong clamp. Fit anything.

It looks like Rick Roper might be able to custom make the part I need to make this happen as well as build me a 10” extension with only adding about 2 grams to my cue weight. Fingers crossed this will work.

Thats great, he's a good guy. That weight bolt looks exactly like my Schons, and like I said.2 oz and up. Same basic weight bolt as in my DZ also. Atlas sells some like that also.

So he said the Schön bolt will not work he is making a custom bolt. We sent him the measurements today. Regardless I have tried every production option and nothing works. It’s a unique situation cause my butt cap is delrin and the bolt has to hold it in place as well but he said he thinks he can do it and will let me know in the next couple days. Thanks so much for the referral.

Depending on how deep it is you may be able to make a plug with a hole at the bottom to screw to the bolt and then tap the plug for the extension kit.

Roper is a great guy. I had him modify a extension bumper for one of my Schons, basically wanted it lighter if it could be done. He took it on as a challenge and had it in the mail a couple days after I asked if he could do it.

Had a bolt custom made by Rick Roper he is shipping it to me to see if it’s going to work. The one for the Schön doesn’t fit but he was able to make one for me.
