American Heyball.............

good link

great game, 99% of the criticism on this board around watching the game is from people who have never played

pretty sure if you never played standard pool you would not find it particularly interesting to watch either

HUH?? I've tried watched a lot of it and its not entertaining in any way. Tough? Yes but its also slow and pretty one-dimensional cinch pool. If they'd shorten the sets and get rid of that insane 140min time limit would really help get more play outside of China.

I've been watching some and is it just me or is the cloth quite slow on these tables?
Yeah, it looks real slow. I do not like 8ball enough to watch it played on the big tables already, but this was even worse.
I watched one rack. As stated above, it's cinch pool. I think I once saw a guy run 3 balls. The tables play a bit too tough to make it watchable.
If I wanted to watch 8ball played at 5+ innings per rack, I'd watch the local APA players beat the rails to death on the Diamonds.

Not to mention with a name as dumb sounding as "Heyball" I don't think I could force myself to try it. :)

Are you able to beat your opponent off fouls, I was casually watching the women's matches and it looked like one player was forcing the other player to foul multiple times and was racking up wins with lots of balls on the table.

I'm from a snooker background and green/slow cloth doesn't bother me. I tried watching a few times and thought I'd get to like it watching Mark Williams ( snooker pro) and Alex Pagulayan playing and had to turn it off. I'll try it if they hold a tournament at one of our local poolrooms

No three foul rule, and loss of shot/intentional fouls are supposed to be loss of game.

I just left from there, I placed 9th after getting knocked out by Corey Deuel in the single elimination stage. Feel free to ask me anything about the event.

The cloth didn't feel that slow to me but there were a few contributing factors: it's been super humid and the new cloth means english doesn't grab on the rails and power the cue ball along.

Edit: forgot to mention that it was so humid, they reduced the 4 point break rule to only 3 points instead.

is nick varner still in?

I tried to watch some of it but just couldn’t get interested. I watch all kinds of pool from beginners to pros but a few minutes was all I could take.

Agree. No doubt its tough but its very one-dimensional vanilla cinch pool. They play Ch9ball on these tables too and its not quite as bad but still not much to sweat.
