Other Billiard Sites Worth a Look

Biloxi Boy

Man With A Golden Arm
Looking to expand my horizons. Particularly interested in content on old cues and cases, but let's see it all. Thank y'all in advance.

This site has a wealth of knowledge if you search the archives.

Sadly everyone got older and no longer posts.

Cue collecting is for a certain demographic from the later years of pool. They were young and playing in the 90’s. So cue collecting was their thing.

We just care about shafts now which is sad. 😂

I do a few billiard things on Facebook- but many of them I just don't like bc there are just too many very uneducated people on the Facebook sites and it seems like more than half just want to "steal" a cue for someone at a ridiculous price.

I do appreciate Palmer cues and the Facebook site for Palmer cues is just great, IMO.

Jay Fishbein's photographs are reason enough to join the Palmer group, even if you're not a Palmer fan. I wish other groups were as good.

I have never had a good experience with Facebook. Simple navigation around a page requires way more effort than I can give. It is difficult for me to understand how it has met with any success at all. I do appreciate the suggestions.

Despite working in IT for many years, I don't like Facebook or most other forms of social media. Unfortunately, much of the good pool content has moved there. I made a Facebook account just to be able to participate in the pool groups, but nothing else. I would love to hear your pool stories or see pictures of your cues, but I don't care about your politics or what you're having for dinner.

What if it was a really good dinner? I kid, but yeah i have similar feelings as you guys do, i havent used facebook really in the past 10 years. other than for comic book connections and artists (comicon) and recently for pool groups like you guys mentioned.
I actually hate facebook, people drive me nuts living around it.... how many of you have to deal with this shit? why didnt you come to the family party? - because no one told me- We sent an invite on FB.....

I work in IT, and refuse to be on "popular" social media. Just a few forum sites. So I agree there.

But now you have to look at my dinner here. AAA Cherry smoked striploin, medium rare, seared over the fire grill to finish. So there.

That looks pretty good, but can I at least see your cue?

Because you were a good sport, sure ;) I have a few more in the collection, but these are the nicer ones. From left to right. (They all have shafts, i promise)

1. CAM (main player) 4point, rosewood into roasted maple
2. Lomax jumper, lomax breaker. Stablized Spalted maple handles. Main breaker, jumper.
3. Pat Diveney, full splice, 60 inch, 2 keilwood shafts.
4. Sugartree fullsplice, cocobolo into lightly figured birdseye maple. My second main player.
5. 1940s willie hoppe pro, Carmelli conversion. Rosewood.
6. Spitz, snakewood into ebony 4 point.
7. Lambros, ultimate joint. Suspected woods are, ebony and redwood handle.
