i think they said it's going to be a league type of thing. so probably fargo capped?

People on here seem to be under the impression that bar box 8-ball is easier than 9-ft 8-ball, when it's widely regarded that bar box 8-ball is harder. The layouts have a lot more clusters and require greater precision and creative problem solving. This is the real 8-ball imho.

Really enjoy this , I watch the matches over and over and it has helped me adjust my play on the BB Diamond tables . I'm able to " tap " balls around for better position .

The rules are not official in the sense that the WPA approves of them. "Official International Rules" in this case means the private rules of the promoter.
They are the official rules of the WEPF, which in some ways is a competing body to the WPA. This is the WEPF trying to expand out of England, Ireland, France, etc. I don't think they're trying to "Americanise English pool". I think they're trying to form an international rule set that people from any pool discipline would be willing to play and which is optimized specifically for 7ft table 8-ball.

Personally even if they use the American balls, I would have preferred if they'd used super tight cut pockets, because I think it would have been better if they'd kept the difficulty similar to the English version rather than making it easier. But I can see that would have been a hard sell.

Ironically, no jump cues makes the event more interesting. Mistakes are punished harder. Safes require a little more talent to escape.
I think it's not just no jump cues. I think jump shots are not permitted, just like snooker.

justin bergman will be playing the next one
I think everyone's hopeful he's coming back between this and the action match with Bustamante. But I wonder if there's no point getting our hopes up. This could just be serendipity that both events only required him to drive a couple hours and perhaps has no bearing on his participation in the pro scene going forward. But here's to hoping.

He's playing 'cause its close. Friends in StL say he has no plans of full time pro pool.
