I've sold all kinds of shit over the yrs and tire-kickers are just part of the deal. To bitch about them is a waste of time 'cause they'll always be around. Sales is a #'s game and you just have to fade a certain % of 'kickers.

Years ago back when most sales were made thru newspaper ads I used flip a lot of dollar friendly cars, they were always great cars for the money and more often than not the first guy that came to look at it bought it. I would get some guys that would call and offer like half of what I had it listed for without asking anything about it, I just hung up the phone. I would also get some guys that wanted to negotiate, they would offer $500 below asking price and I would then counter offer $500 over asking price. They would say "that's more than you are asking", I replied that I thought we were negotiating. :)

Kickers and complainers. A few years back I put a few of my dad's old Lionel trains from the 1960s and 70s up for sale and had one guy email me and say. "your prices are too high." Didn't reply but I wanted to. What people ask for things is their right. You can buy or keep scrolling.

Most of the tire kickers don't read the friggin ad! When I post something I usually put Price is FIRM, no trades and the condition along with pics. I had one jerk when I was selling my motorhome get pissed when I wouldn't get it safetied for him. The ad said in as is condition. He thought for the money involved it should be done. The next guy bought it with no problem

A while back we posted on a local site that we had furniture for sale.
The ad read cash only,it was only $200!
Multiple people wanted to pay thru various apps,we dont do apps.
A couple of them got pissed off when they were told cash only.
finally someone showed up with $100 bills and off went the furniture.

Maybe I’m a tire kicker! I always ask a few questions to see the speed/quality of the reply. Often I ask for specific additional information or photos.
The seller’s response tells a lot. If they don’t want to put a little effort into it, how are they going to be after they have the money?
Not afraid to throw out a “lowball” offer either, if that’s what it’s worth to me.
I’m a terrible buyer, don’t take my money!

To be fair all he did was asked for location and that is the basic. I do it here all the time. Where is the cue located? I can be dealing with a guy from Louisiana and the cue is in Ohio. Or it says a guy is from Los Angeles but he's in China. Blame eBay for this as well.

Also, we have a term and its "flaky sellers". We have to question do you really want to sell your cue or you are waiting for some sucker to buy it off you? There's priced to sell and there is priced for a whale. LOL

Just look at the one year old ads with no price drops. They're not really looking to sell. Get them off the front page or delete the ad and comeback in a few months when you're ready.

This.

They don't know we are vetting them too.

People have been nice but there are a bunch of sellers that think we should be buying their prized cue.

"They don't know what they have" applies to them too. It's really not what that they think it is. LOL

Put a fair price on what you are selling and it eliminates most of the kickers.
When I hear talk from people selling stuff for high prices complain that nobody wants there stuff and they put a high price on it planning on negotiating down I just laugh.
If you don't want people negotiating, put a fair price and stick to it. If the price is what you want and feel is fair, don't even respond to someone trying to beat you up on it. Anything will sell if the price is right.

This as well.

Do they know cue makers are a phone call away? I can call and ask.

I actually did call and ask. Lets say I'm getting a really decent cue for a their price. I get to pick what I want and I am willing to wait. I like the process so much I may put in another order in a few months.

I have plenty of cues to play with and just got a complete Mezz setup to enjoy while I wait.

Lmfao from the Queen that’s got me on permablock
Gtfo already
To bitch continuously about someone you supposedly blocked is a MEGA waste of time
Good job

I understand that tire kickers are a part of sales. But it just gets overwhelming at times. I have to say, though, the ones who drive me craziest are the ones who seem to just want to talk and/or argue with zero intention of buying anything. I had a really nice Samsara for sale on here years ago and had a guy shoot me his phone number to discuss it. So I call him and he answered. I explained that I had the Samasara cue for sale on AZ and his response was, "Oh, yeah. Do you have any Black Boars?" Dude, why on earth would you think I have a Black Boar for sale when nothing in my for sale post says anything about any other cues, much less a Boar?

Another time, I was selling a John Deere Gator for my Mom on FB Marketplace. I couldn't tell you how many messages I got asking about it which I would immediately respond to and then get zero response to that. Not to mention, again, the people who wanted to argue with me about titles vs. certificates of origin and all sorts of other crap.

Again, I know it's a part of sales and complaining won't fix it. But 99% of what's discussed on here isn't going to amount to a pile of ant turds anyway so we might as well get it off our chests.

I usually go through no less than 10 before a buyer shows up

I try to price things fairly, and i make fair offers if they say accepting offers or dont specify firm. If they are over priced I ignore them. If somone lowballs, i also ignore them.

Selling/buying things second hand is not my job or how i make my living. Either a fair transaction for both parties or i walk. A buyer or seller arguing over a few dollars with me isnt worth my time.

The worst are the dishonest real estate agents. I one print out sayes from 2-3 years ago claiming those sales were the going price. We were confused because it was so much lower than going rate. We then noticed the sale dates on the printouts and kicked them out of the house.
