Do you think the last guy used enough staples?

Just a couple staples to pull today. I should have taken pictures of the rails, they were almost as bad.

Ouch, been there done that.
Did you cut the cloth along the top and try and pull some of them with the cloth? It can fling staples, but sometimes you can remove a bunch or at least pull one leg up if you do that.

No, I thought about it but the place has a rugged floor and it's a friends table at a 6 table private place. I do find using a staple puller on top of the cloth gives a little cushion so not to have to dig into the wood too much. Loosen them up with that and then use dikes to pull the staples out. A little more work but less mess and damage to the wood.

I've also had to pull up some of those carpet pads over the years. Can't imagine why those guys think they need more than a couple staples to hold it in place.

Heh. Probably because laying carpet is arguably an even shittier job than demo'ing it. On a large crew for a commercial job, "look busy" is often a good survival strategy. No one gives af how many staples you go through.

My Mechanic puts in a similar amount of staples.

His work is 100 times more professional than the OP's photos. Those pics deserve to be in the Hack Thread.

He's the one that has to deal with his work but he has a removal technique that allows him to remove 30' of staples in short order.
