Semi-Pro: $10,000 added, $125 entry fee, $25 registration fee. Restricted to Maximum 650 Fargo Rating and APA 6.

This makes no sense, a mid 500 Fargo can max out APA as a 7/9. Saying you can have a 650 Fargo but not be an APA 7 is bonkers. Any 600 Fargo will me maxed out in the APA. Someone does not know how good a 650 is or how bad a 6 can be relative to "good" players. Also 650 is were semi pro STARTS, not ends.

I think the main idea was to get a lot of non-pro players into the venue. For that, you want to set the max pretty low. There are a lot more players from 550 to 650 than from 650 to 750. I imagine the formula will be tweaked next year.

The main flaw I see is they are saying APA 6 is the max, that is way under a 650 Fargo. So some APA 7 that would be ranked 600 in Fargo would be turned away, but a 630 player better than then would be allowed in if they don't play in the APA. I guess they are maybe trying to prevent the 700 Fargo APA 7/9s from playing but then it is like the 3 point rule, they create new issues trying to "fix" something.

It looks to me that they know how strong APA players are. Doesn't APA use Fargo? If not they should.

I think their Equalizer handicap/rating system is a large part of their business model. I doubt they will ever change.
