An intoduction... The Aiminator

Not how I practice (that might explain my game) but after watching the video it’s kind of cool!
I like the swinging pegs. As a stroke check I set the cue ball on the spot shooting at a piece of chalk on the middle diamond of the rail and get the cue ball to return to the cue tip. You could use this in the same way, just like a carnival game, don’t get the pegs swinging.

That is great for dead center hits! Now try the same drill with low right.

That's what the Aiminator enables you to practice. Using any type of tip placement on the cueball and be able to split the pegs without hitting them thus making the shot.

I have developed a training aid that gives immediate feedback on cueball placement at the point of contact. I created a video for it below. Please leave feedback on the concept and if interested either PM me or use the email in the video. Because AZ Billiards forums has had a huge influence on my pool life I am going to do an initial cost of $14.99 and will include both the instructor and public arm.

Please let me know what you think

I would like to purchase two of them.

Actually, you don't necessarily want to hit the ghost ball center when using sidespin because the transferred spin will throw the object ball into a different path than when hit with center ball.

Where I see your device helping greatly is for accurate center-ball shots. Where I see it possibly helping is with finding the right range of deflection to allow muscle memory to determine the amount of sidespin/offset combination that works with sidespin to send the object ball into the pocket.

I have created a similar but literally crude template with hanging paper "gates" for the same reason you have. It is just paper and tape and gets distorted pretty quickly. The power of a solid apparatus and not constantly having to "rebuild" it is really important to developing muscle memory and enjoyable practice time.

I think it's a great idea and I am glad to support your efforts.

It is adjustable. If you want to start out with a big gap and keep making the aim lane thinner as you get better I have made that possible.

Problem with making a video you can't put EVERYTHING it does in the introductory. It would be 20 minutes long and I would have lost most by minute 5. I plan on doing future videos to showcase specific things and drill suggestions.
Don't worry about who you "lose" when you make longer informative videos. Better to have accurate and full information than to have incomplete teaser videos imo. The power of the Internet is that there doesn't have to be any barrier between maker and customer.

This is one reason why a lot of my customers can and do pass on accurate information about our cases without any intervention from me.

Ok for the orders I have I am trying to figure out the best way to ship them. FedEx I hear is reasonable. Usps is 10.40 for their priority and UPS is around that for ground. Never really dealt with multiple shipments before like this anyone got suggestions?

Looks like I might be able to do ground advantage at just over 5 bucks on usps

Thanks to everyone's patience. I have not collected a cent yet as I want to make sure I have everything in place and i am working out the kinks. For those that have shown interest I will be contacting you tomorrow and plan on shipping Thursday. Tough to do this and have a job as well 😀

Opens rift in the space time continuum, reality unravels...

:)

lol why? Such a training aid is excellent for CTE and other objective-aiming systems. Given that I am creating a pool academy specifically for training I have been collecting, creating and using a great many training aids for the students. If nothing else though just the ability to send the ball through the gates without disturbing them is a great way to build visual acuity and muscle memory at various distances.

Looks more like a novelty item to me. Nothing a few reinforcement stickers and a few placed balls couldn't do and replacate it. To me 3D printed stuff just looks cheap, I would hope if you get things running maybe get it made out of plastic. Hopefully you get a few bites out of the thing.

And don't forget to get a patten on the thing too.

Why the knock?

Why not. It's clunky for one; looks like a proof of concept proto. I want to call it Poolhenge. Actually that might be a cool name for the product. Needs refinement for sure. This version might become a collectible, IDK...

He asked for what people think and i gave him my opinion and i also gave him suggestions to. Like getting it pattened. I didn't call it a POS. For some people it could be useful for most i would find it to be a gimmick. He does have a good price point for it. If he possibly made it foldable to put in a case as well.

It is a proto. Needs some polishing but that's easy. I agree it needs to be foldable in way that transporting is seamless. Looking forward to see JB's video on one after he gets it.

Pretty kewl man. It would be interesting to set it up midpoint on a kicking lane to fine tune a thick or thin hit.

Just a hack here, so grain of salt brotha’. The video seemed busy at times. One thing I can recall from back in the day was the 6x6 rule. 6 lines a slide and 6 words a line. You don’t want folks reading when they should be watching the action you’re providing. Provide the highlights in the text, the narrated description should be the majority of your words.

Didn’t see in the wideo, how does this work when the object ball is frozen to the rail? Can one of the legs be positioned on the rail and a dangly thing moved, so the rail can take it’s place?

Here's one taken apart for transportation. Fits fine in your cue case.

This is for practicing either cueball placement at the point of contact or being able to learn different aiming systems and getting a visual placement of the cueball at the point of contact.

I appreciate the honest opinion. As for patten by the time all was said and done I would have to charge twice or 3x what I am offering. If anyone knows me I do this stuff to help ppl out. (Why else would i have a free website on building a pooltable up for 20 years?) The cost is to pretty much cover what I have into it at this point. If I make a few dollars more... Great. And if it explodes well then I will look into covering my butt. Is it crude? Sure... does it work? Hell yes! Is it cheap? Very! Everyone gets to benefit from the development stage.

Weren't you creating a pool academy 10 years ago?
