Thanks for giving it a try, I'll do my best to answer your questions:
Hi, I tried it, its pretty cool!
Is the table size accurate relative to the ball size? That was always a pet peeve of mine on table diagram tools.
The table is sized for an 8-footer to strike a balance between a small and a large table. Maybe in the future, there could be different sizes of tables.
I had a hard time moving balls/aim around at first, but got better at it.
If you tap a ball, you can use the sliders to fine-tune.
The fine control thickness of hit panel blocks the lower half of the table when balls are there.
Still brainstorming how to fix this issue.
The target game I didn't understand. (I know the goal). But I couldn't move anything around like the regular screen.
Thank you for the feedback. In the game play, you can only adjust the aim, speed, and tip position.
The playback is neat. It looks about right for accuracy at first glance. How close do you think it is?
The balls moving on the table are very accurate, using actual physical equations. The collision between two balls is pretty good because it can be modeled simply, but the collision between a ball and the cushion is unbelievably complex. I think it's in a good place to release, but there are still some scenarios that don't exactly match what happens on a real table.
What would be the end use of the app? I see it as fun to investigate the app, but not sure I'd use it on a regular basis.
You could use it for saving shots that you want to practice. Also, it could be used as a learning tool to see how parameters change a shot. I think the game play is fun too. I'm planning to keep adding to the app depending on what people find valuable.
Since we have your ear, would it be possible to take a picture of a layout on a real table and transform it to a diagram where the balls can be moved? I feel the technology is all there now to do this.
From what I've seen, this is technically possible but still complicated and requires ideal lighting and angles. Image recognition technology is getting better though, so it should become easier to do such a thing in the future.
