Searing.

Nobody wants to help me, i asked Showman if he could do the repair - waiting for an answer.

Dennis doesn't care one bit, we'll be in touch with his lawer to get cues back.

If you want a class action let me know - it may be the only way to get yout cues back.

You decide Dennis, what's it gonna be????
Hopefully things go better with Showman for than they did with me.

Goodness gracious…….reading about people that are known to be talented cue makers and their abysmal behavior
makes me appreciate all the more the good fortune I’ve had with cue makers that were gentlemen, trustworthy and
extremely considerate. The cue maker that absolutely was the very best of any I have worked with is Mr. Bob Owen.

all the ones that are like that have been talked about and people have been warned, yet continue to send them cues and money then complain about getting taken.

im sorry about your losses jason and you do admit you were stupid so thats half the battle and hope you win the fight. im on your side.

remember the old true saying

"fool me once it is on you, fool me twice and its on me"

another saying
"pay in advance and get lousy service"

a fool and his money shall soon part.

i could go on and on.

and dont deal with a cuemaker you cant drive over to his place of business and take what he has of yours back.
there is a cuemaker around every corner.

All my cues go to Dennis for maintenance, I own a Searing and am fortunate to have it. He'll talk pool for hours when you're in his shop. Don't know the OPs situation but I know Dennis to be a stand up guy.
And the check is in the mail. What do your results have do with the people that are stuck? Does one atta boy wipe out 10 plus ah shits? Sorry. D is bad news.

there is always someone that no matter what the situation. says it works fine for me. funny how most times its a new member. i wonder who had him join? of course it may work until it doesnt, then he joins the crowed complaining how he got swindled.

few get a bad rep for no reason. especially if there is a whole troupe behind it. and for each one of those there are ten that just do what they say. those seem to get the most business .

The poster most likely plays pool with D or they are friends to begin with

Darrell I know I didn't do the job I was supposed to , however didn't I not only pay you but pay you more than you said I owed you ?
Years ago ?
Not wanting to hijack the original Poster, but just want everyone to know that I agree with this statement. To let everyone know that John did eventually make things right, but it was years in the making. Hopefully it can get back on track. On hindsight, I should have just PM’d the Poster.

How many have a timeline to get their cues back since Dennis's last post?

Would you all love the truth?

I'm at fuk it, stay tuned. Sometimes patients wear thin. Let's have a discussion.

I even notified my "friend" that I needed to sell and more importantly needed to have surgery - not a single response.

More to come, stay tuned - im beyond forgiveness and there's probably a chance there will be szamboti forearms and Spain also for sale. I'm beyond giving a shit about cue bums

I even gave my "friend"(searing)another forearm(szamboti) to sell for his medical bills, he didn't even have the decency to ask if I was OK when I sent him my issue. Fuking friends, who needs them.
Ah, my dear Jason, do you recall the days of our pilgrimage to his little atelier, that sanctum of skill where he, the supposed maestro, ruled with such peculiar genius? Truly, he is the most gifted artisan; a virtuoso whose talents soar even as his principles slumber. Imagine my amazement when, after no small amount of pleading, he finally consented to create a cue for me—a task that took him two years of silent evasion, and the result was a cue so far removed from his promises it seemed as if conjured by whimsy. I sold it, of course. His response? An indignant tome of a text demanding a portion of my proceeds, to which I answered with the stoic silence he himself had taught me so well.

But here, my friend, lies the heart of my discourse: You are dealing with a man of peculiar sensibilities, to say the least—a creature perhaps fashioned more by quirks than by reason, who, if I may dare say, plays not with a full deck, someone clearly autistic. He has always been encircled by sycophants, cue dealers/scalpers, and wealthy devotees who lavish upon him the adoration usually reserved for kings or deities. Nits that wouldn’t bet water is wet. Yes, he produces a cue with splendid precision, flawless, one might say, if one enjoys the feel of wielding a leaden bar. Indeed, only a man with the steady arm of John Foster himself could render that cue playable.

You see, this eccentric artisan has no need, nor care, for worldly wealth. His spirit has never been moved by anything as vulgar as monetary gain. To entrust him with the timely fulfillment of your desires is as hopeful as handing one’s dreams to a poet and expecting them to materialize. You might as well have laid your expectations in the hands of the character Dustin Hoffman plays in Rainman.

I do extend my sympathies regarding your troubles, and my sincerest hopes that you have recovered from your recent ailments. As for his elusive cue? Allow me to suggest that you join the ranks of the resigned, for you stand in a long procession of those vexed and swindled. Perhaps I alone can claim to have once bested him in our dealings—a rare feat indeed.

Should you wish to bring him forth from his hidey-hole, public shaming may, on occasion, summon him to face his critics, though beware—the acolytes and fanatics that surround him may retaliate, for they would rather crucify you than see any stain upon their golden idol. There is a reason to the greatness of Balabushka beyond talent and execution; the likes of whose company he shall never keep in the legends and annuls of billiard history - excellent customer service.

The word on the street is he treats people who are close enough to show up at his shop ok. But god help you if you can't.

He's not a "stand up guy" he has other peoples property that he won't give back.

I'm certainly not suggesting any form of street justice...but some form of "Plan B" might be in order.

The "pool world" is a strange world. Certain people can completely rip people off...and they get a pass...especially in the cue world.

All of his "fan boys" will keep supporting him...knowing he's a thief. Their just as complicit.

The most artistic response I've ever seen on this site. Bravo!

In years gone by if I had such a problem I always felt it best to deal with it face to face. Sometimes that took me hundreds of miles but nearly always I got the desired results without any trouble taking place. Only on one occasion did a well timed slap to the face bring a thief to his senses. He was a junkie who looted my cash register while his accomplice got the attention of my girl working the counter that day. I got my money back plus his watch.

My experience has always been that looking someone in the eye and telling the truth gives you great power. Of course in today's world I'm not sure I would trust even that anymore. I want back up just in case. ;)

Remember, all he had to do was reach out to somebody needing to sell and having surgery. After at least 11 years plus cash and wood. He legit never asked for 1 second if I was ok. Is that a friend or somebody you'd want to do business with? If it is, maybe you can buy all the blanks and wood he has promised me. Good luck
You know I'd help you buddy. You're a special friend to me! I'm sorry to hear about all this trouble. I'm not sure how to advise you here.

You may not know this but I got burned big time (well into six figures) last year in a court case over property. My lawyer dropped the ball and I got stuck with the bill. I was very angry and mad at all concerned as I knew that I got a raw deal. Even the judge said they threw me under the bus. In the end I realized there was nothing I could do and being angry and vengeful was only hurting me that much more. I had to let it go and put it in the rear view mirror. A year later I still think about it from time to time and then let it go again. Better for my mental health to be thankful for what I still have. My life is still good and I have a wonderful loving wife, who you know quite well Jason. She is the one who convinced me I had to move on.

Are you able to drive to Dennis' shop and get your items back? He was on here in the past year stating he was getting people caught up, but your issues seem much broader than just a single cue project.

it doesnt take years to get caught up and if someone wants their property back it should immediately be sent.

to keep it after the ask has another word describing what that is.

and as far as making things right with another great cuemaker, taking years isnt making anything right. although in their mind they think it is.
