? Ron Thomas case ?

Thomas Cue Cases
They are clearly made in the Porper style of case, I would think to make this line of case, if they were made in the USA, then Porper might have been private labeling these. I have known Ron for many years and this is not something he would have made, in addition to the 1 x 2, and 2 x 4 cases, he couldn't keep up with those orders, let along make an entirely different style of case in 4 or 5 different patterns.

He was a one case at a time maker.

I know that about the man yes sir. I've had 3 members I know and trust say this case I have is an early Whitten style 3x6 case. Each man used this exact phrase. 1 had one and had it verified by Ron himself as an early example by this label on mine I've provided in these pics. I guess the battle continues.....

Ron Thomas is alive and (fairly) well. I went to his house (he lives 5 minutes from me) and spoke with his wife. She said Ron was sleeping as he fell down recently and hurt his back so he's been laying down a lot and sleeping. I asked if he was still active, making cases. She said he had slowed down considerably and occasionally still made a case now and then. He no longer makes large orders like he used to do at one time for a big customer in Japan.

I told her that there were a lot of fans that were concerned about him and my visit was twofold. She was happy to hear about all of our concern and would relate such to Ron. I also told her I was interested in having Ron make me a case when he was up to it and she said she would have him contact me. I told her I had a small leather business back in the 70's-80's and would be willing to give Ron a hand with anything should he need my help. I felt bad for them as the house was lacking a little in maintenance considering the upscale neighborhood that they live in. Ron's wife stated it was the house she grew up in and they had moved there in 2000 when her parents passed on.

I'll post an update when I hear from Ron.

Ty much! He has a page on Facebook I've messaged him but haven't got a reply yet. Your information is invaluable to us on here, buddy. Please follow up with us! I wish someone nearby could update his house for them. Louisiana is rough in the summer, I've been there then, idk about the winters!

I'm not saying I'm correct by stating your case was not made by Ron Thomas, but I'd be willing to bet on it.

Save your money buddy. It ain't his. I knew Ron and have a few of his early cases. They look similar to what you would expect (similar to his later cases but less refined).
No,I'll take your pennies sport. People who know cases and the gentleman know the facts, not you big spender. I know them, never heard of you. When you read my post, you DID understand I was looking for INFORMATION, opinions don't you? Someone I KNOW and BELIEVE went to see Ron this week, he lives 10 minutes away from the man. My question is: exactly WHO are you? The next time I post about a subject I'm curious about if the words are: what's your OPINIONS? Feel free to chime in,okay? IF I'm searching for---FACTS---? You can PLEASE just scroll on by player. OK?

WTF do i know but this looks like a J&J import special. That generic asian interior looks like a hundred other import cases. I'm sure the OP will explode and question my ancestry but i don't give a flying fk.
No sir,I'm interested in facts about the case. Not opinions. 1 gentleman wanted to bet $ here. My post is searching for information, NOT opinions. You stay in character in your replies with what you know, NOT what you THINK. Tyia.

He used vinyl.
