I purchased a bulletproof recoil tip (red medium) tip and...

I’ve been playing with a medium for four months. I love it, I found that a periodic light scuffing with 80 grit sand paper provides the best grip on the chalk and best CB action.

This tip does wear down. But it is a slow wear and it plays very consistently.
I scuff my green quite frequently. 3 or 4 times a session. Force of habit. Haven't noticed any reduction in size whatsoever!!

more false advertising. now we have proof. i didnt shoot it with my 44 magnum as that would have been an unfair test. and i am internationally famous for being fair. so i just used a 9mm with a target load.

well it completely demolished the tip with little to be found. so that proves it is not bullet proof.

i know he will now say he will send me one for free. thanks for nothing as it also shattered my shaft and split the butt of the cue.
I don't recall them claiming their tips were bulletproof. That's just the company name, in reference to lexan??
If you were dumb enuf to shoot at it while it's on your cue, that's on you.
Joke's on me if your posts were meant to be ludicrous in nature.

I ordered both the free blue soft tip and 50% off green hard tip. I installed them both myself using a lathe and the techniques shown in their video using fresh Loctite Gel superglue. My finish was not perfect but looked pretty good and I was happy with the results, neither tip popped off so I'd say the glue is working.

The soft blue tip had a very nice feel and sound to it, however I felt I could not get my normal amount of draw on the cue ball when compared to other soft tips I have used. This was my only complaint, otherwise the tip held chalk great, felt and played very good.

The green hard tip plays much like other hard tips, I can get my normal amount of draw on the cue ball with it and all other shots perform like other hard tips. It hasn't not changed shape either and holds chalk very well. My biggest complaint for this tip is the noise it makes, but this is a completely personal feeling and does not affect play. I have the tip installed on a 12.5mm carbon shaft with T34 ferrule. I have a feeling on a wood shaft the noise would not be as loud and more tolerable to me.

If you are looking to try a new tip technology and aren't afraid of something different I say give them a try. They do exactly what the manufacturer claims they will. Just like everything else, they are not a silver bullet but they do perform as stated, you just have to decide if that is what you want.

I have a red medium on order that I am going to replace the soft tip with, I have a feeling it will be a happy middle ground for me with performance, feel and sound. I will post a review once I get it mounted and play some games with it.

Are they still offering the 50% off promo?

That's on you! Should have shot it before putting it on your cue! HAHA! Should they stop calling Lexan bulletproof glass if you shoot a 1/4" sheet of it instead of 2" thickness?

Let me just say it's refreshing to find a new product in this industry that actually performs as stated. Too many products are so hyped that they fail the sniff test right out of the box.
I hope Bulletproof maintains a healthy market share and continues to produce and innovate new products for all those players like me who like to experiment.
And, after all this time, I still seek the ever fleeting 'perfection of stroke' in this, the world's best table sport!! You gotta love it.
I'm all for anything that helps me accomplish that goal. Thank you Bulletproof!!👍🏻

I had the same issue with draw on the medium top. Try scuffing with 80 grit.

Thanks for the tip. I had scuffed and picked the end of the soft tip some but did not get overly aggressive with it. I'll try that with the medium if I don't get the desired action.

@jokrswylde - I sent you a PM, but effectively, yes the 50% promo code worked when I ordered the Medium.

I put mine on a spare shaft just to try it out and they're not bad at all. Response and hit is just a little different, and I'm not really sure how to describe it. My experience with it tells me I could get used to a synthetic tip and use one long term If I wanted to. I would say give it a run and make sure you break it in a bit before you make any determinations. Mine took quite a few hits to kind of "come around."
I put the blue soft on my back up. Didnt like it at all, but after 1000 hits, really rough guess lol wad a a lot of hits, i trimmed a small amount of mushroom, picked the crap out of the top and omg felt so good. So I put one on my main player and same thing. Couldnt get the juice on my shots, felt like a plastic fisher price tip compared to the worked in tip on my back up. Once it worked in on my go to player. It hits bettet than any leather tip ive tried. If its consistant and lasts like they say these are tymhe tip of the future. Ive tried quiteca few keather tips over thecladt couple years, always loved the grip and juice i get of the softest tips i could find. Played with kanuii ss for years, then cue soul ss i found just as good but at half life left they seemed to die so had tobswitch them early. The ultraskin soft i liked better for way less $$ too. Wore one out in a couple months lol. Kamakazee ss is really nice too. My fav leather tip ended up being the TAOM fusion. Also found i like them way better brand new so id change it with lots layers still there prob just half way down. In found these Bulletproof tips are the unicorn tip ive been looking for in a leather tip. Just a bit of a pain to deal with how long it takes to work it in. But once its worked in its well worth it. When it mushrooms is when I noticed it start to come around. Ive only tried the soft, im guessing it prob takes longer to work in them mediums. Either way all my cues are getting these bad ass tips. If I put one on my fiancees cue, il prob break it in for her because it will take her a lot longer to work in, and its really quite different before and after its worked in.
