Is it worth going to the Billiards Expo in Philidelphia?

I went a few years ago to pick up a cue, the 2 builders were not there, picked it up at their hotel. All-in, about 20mins spent there.
This will be my 30th year going out of 31 yrs having it(missed 1st year) I wouldn`t miss it for the world, unless a death in the family happens.
I meet cue makers that I`ve know for years & azers that I`ve become good friends with over 30 yrs. To me its like someone else said in this thread, its pool heaven in a nut shell. My wife goes with me and she loves it about as much as I do. Finally after 4 yrs I finally got an Andy Rounceville FS blank last year & had a good buddy cue maker finish it for me. Couldn`t be happier with it. All in all its what you make of your time there. Atleast that`s how I see it. Hope this helps

Not sure if I'll be down this year, picked up my Showman/Carpenter cue 2 years ago(i think
) there's an outage at the nuke plant down the road at the same time and that's the reason I'm usually around these days. Would love to hit a few minis if nothing else and say hi.Little Kenny is a good friend so it's always nice to see him.
Miss the days of Kirkwood 30beers deep and running out. Seems the action has dried up everywhere.
Maybe JAM and Keith will show up with some lightening in a bottle one last(or more) time
I thought I deleted this because I immediately remembered I already had the answer in an older email.
Last year was $680 to rent a 9’ table and $1500 per 10x10’ booth, two booths recommended for full table usage.

It is and has been the pool event of the year. It’s 4 days of pool heaven. Every level of pool to watch and anything you can imagine to buy and endless entertainment from the gambling room. If you’re a people watcher you will have plenty to watch there. Lol

I can attest to the people watching. The later it gets, the more interesting it is.
I have no interest in gambling or being involved with any of those people lol but I sure do like watching them like animals at the zoo

People can make fun of me for being a league and tournament player all they want but I get all the adrenaline I need out of both and my money is safely in the bank or my pocket where it belongs I’ve seen some crazy shit over the years in the pit for sure. lol
The last time I went I watched a horde of those guys run outside for a group smoke break and lost all the money they either won or already had to a street performer playing guess which cup the ball is under. To be clear I’m not shitting on anyone who likes to gamble . It’s your money do as you will. I just always thought it was funny that it Seems pool is the only game being played that you can’t be good at unless you gamble lol just never been my thing.
It's been around 15 years not showing up for me. The EXPO...going to the expo. Not signing up for the women's Amateur tourney!
Last I was there it was still at the Scanticon. Great times to be had. No wait, I did go over once when it was in New Jersey. Ate at Harold's...I'm still full from sitting in there. Whew! I may have to check it out one more time. Always good to see friends that live on the other side of the continent/world and a couple not so friends.
Plus I'm not getting any younger.

Thanks Bob. I was weighing the possibility of hanging at my sons place 40 minutes from the airport in Jersey but it's that far on the opposite side it looks like which makes it iffy.
