Predator painting cues?

Had a custom cue maker tell about the time he was doing refinish work on a cue made by another custom cue maker. Put it on the lathe to take off the old finish and wound up taking off a point too. Turns out it was inlaid with Sharpie in the first place.
Bet I know who both of them are lol. That forearm hung in the shop for years and I was the only one to notice it

I bought thus QR-2 around 2010 for $650. I hope thats real curly maple and not paint or a decal.
I love this cue. It looks and plays good.

I have the sp2 that’s in the picture. Knew they were $900. I guess it’s 30 plus years of playing common sense but I didn’t think a cue at that price point with a a $500 revo shaft was actual inlays And honestly I didn’t care. I liked the way it looked and played. Now the predator cues like the blak series that our around 3k or I believe better be inlays at that price point.

they are you can tell when you look at them in person

I'm pretty sure every Predator cue in black color has been painted since at least 2000. I had a couple black ones, and I used to slam my cues down (I outgrew that, thankfully). Anyway, when the black flaked off, the wood was maple underneath.

i'm not sure. when falcon and jacoby (was it jacoby?) made their 2k-4k series they were really well made. looked better too than the futuristic bs. pred recently recycled one of the old designs for a throne model. k-series have the same style too. ish.

Can confirm the Blak and Throne series are real inlays. The ebony in the Blak is stunning, photos don't do it justice.

its a very beautiful cue, i just wish it came in wrapless
I wasn't sure about the Leather Luxe until i held one. Not as tacky as the sport grips, not as slippery as real leather can be, but more consistent than linen or no wrap. Absolutely love it.

I'm not really a fan of Predator's no-wrap cues. It's always just a solid block of color or black, like it was an afterthought. The cues they do in partnership with Jacoby though? Stunners.
