I mean, they say so on their website.

(From a current cue so doesn’t match specs of this one exactly)
  • Maple Forearm in a Black Matte finish, featuring Gold Predator cat logo
  • Maple Handle in a Black Glossy finish for added slip resistance
  • 4 Maple inlaid points in Black, Indigo, Bright Blue, and Natural Maple
The points aren’t painted on but the handle is maple with a painted finish and they’re up front about it. I don’t really have a problem with that. It’s not like maple isn’t a good choice for a cue or anything.

Yes they paint those particular ones. I was in the market for a cheaper cue while I wait for my cue to be built. It was Mezz and the Predator Road line or their sneaky pete. It's painted in the forearm I believe.

Does anyone know if this classic radial pin sneaky pete is painted or real spliced points ??

I'm pretty sure every Predator cue in black color has been painted since at least 2000. I had a couple black ones, and I used to slam my cues down (I outgrew that, thankfully). Anyway, when the black flaked off, the wood was maple underneath.

This isn't news for anyone who repairs cues, but it's really sad that cues costing almost $1000 is just paint and it's not really clearly stated what you are buying. Lucasi has also been doing the same thing for a long time.

Had a custom cue maker tell about the time he was doing refinish work on a cue made by another custom cue maker. Put it on the lathe to take off the old finish and wound up taking off a point too. Turns out it was inlaid with Sharpie in the first place.

@Michael Webb for clarity, On the Predator cues you showed here with points: The points are actual inlayed wood, and the base material is maple, that is then painted? Or, are the points also painted on?

SP series, painted
.the reason I showed the inside of the black and white forearm is,
The Forearm is all white, the black is colored.
On the full splice, real points. The black is colored.
