Anyone recognize this cue maker? The bumper is red and the joint appears to be a flat faced 3/8x10 modified with a Huebler style nylon insert. Thanks

That's a cool cue. I feel like we have seen that W before. The bumper is interesting, and with a nylon insert and that pin, it's all very unique.

I like that cue.

As much as I like that cue, this is my favorite part of that picture.

All joking aside, it has the look of a cue that's seen some action in the best possible way. Used but not a abused. I'd also agree that it's most likely a Woodworth. The W logo looks exactly like the W in his signature.

A pickers dream if the price is right - whenever a cue is for sale and the present owner has no idea who made it😀

That's a big "if." The cues I've found at pawn shops have been priced into the stratosphere. Even if I could have talked them down 50% I still would have overpaid. But sometimes you're in the right place at the right time.

That is hillariess!! I always ignor signs like that and wait too see if anyone says anthing. My favorite one is "No snnglsses can be worn in store".
In that one the entire west side is clear glass. I would go blind if I took them off so I don't.
Anyway your picture certainly solves this mystery for me. Thank you.

All picking is a big”if” that is why most don’t do it - mostly a needle in a haystack find.
Always pays to look in the haystack. Always.

As for the pawn brokers, yeah, they often have no idea and just overprice stuff like cues.

But they will have $400 on a fancy made in China ramin wood cue next to a perfect condition Joss for $125. I have seen it. I now own that Joss. I offered a price on the bundle. Negotiated a lower price on the budle with specific prices assigned to each cue. Then said I wasn't interested in the more expensive one but would take the Joss for $90. Done deal! I still have it.

As for identifying such cues, have a number of them I bought without an ID. I have never once failed to come out smelling like roses in such a deal. If it looks like a "good cue" and your instincts say the price is good, bundle it with the POS cue for a cheaper price, or just make an offer, and buy it. Just buy it. Garage sale, flea market, pawn broker, Craigslist, whatever.

If you know cues, and know enough to ask the right questions, it is very unlikely you will be unhappy. But if you wait and research it, and give them time to research it, or someone else buys it, you might regret it. Just buy it.

This cue? I don't know what price they had on it, but there is a very good chance I would have bought it. It took be about 30 seconds of searching to ID it in post #8.

I think most of us would have thought early Woodworth right off the bat anyway.

Most don't do it? Good. :)

Looks like they have the rare yellow version of the commonly available blue sign, for the sign collectors. LOL!

Woodworth was my firs thought, but I couldn't remember if they were ever done without the circle. Its in nice shape well used but not beat to crap like so many old shooter cues. It's marked stupid high, But I know the girls will work with me. Hmm... watch the for sale section!

Actually, I'll be listing several cues soon. I just haven't felt like taking the time to break out the camera and all that stuff. But I will be selling a Joss merry widow a Meucci Pro Billiard Tour a Viking a Predator a Pechauer JP and some others besides that.....

I did well on it. Its a super sweet old cue. I'll get it listed as soon as I get around to it. I'm thinking $350 or so.
