Crical Pro- great Amazon deal

Some pictures. The taper is hard to see, but I promise no one here would play it, even if it was free. IDK how to ensure you get the shaft Garczar did?

All pictures are the same order of the 3 shafts.

no one's doubting you, just curious as to what they say/do. that definitely missed inspection. what matters here is how they respond and rectify a problem. any potential buyers should probably know.

Oh yeah I wasn't doubting, I just wanted to show it.

I think I'm just going to return it on Amazon. I do this every couple of years and end up with stuff I don't like. I won't be able to play it anyway, the aim is different than the Predator that I'm so used to.

Don't let me do it again;)

I bought a Rhino for $170 to avoid a $500 Revo just to find out that the Rhino doesn’t fit and ordered acRevo so trying to save money, I spent $670 on a Revo instead of just $500
Sell that Rhino!!!!! You can sell it in a week at $120.

no one will but it localy as I don't think there is anyone around with a 5/16x14 that will fit it.
shippin overseas is not worth it.
I'm waitiing for a tap and I'll try to work it manually and see if I can get it to fit. If it'll work then I'll try to file down the pilot section on the shaft as I have a cue with a flat faced 5/16x14 joint that I would love to couple with a CF shaft.

Then the tip has no effect either; it's all in the head. After all, I get more spin from a hard tip compared to a soft tip, which is the opposite of what the general consensus is... the CB doesn't know what tip hit it, nor does it know the tip shape; it's just reacting to a vector force applied to it.

And again, cue sports are games of feel; different cues perform differently, and they give different feedback to the player who adjusts the stroke accordingly. So different cues/shafts/tips feel different to us, and it makes us stroke differently.

I get more action with a front-heavy cue with a softer stroke; the CB has no idea about the cue balance point, and yet it's happening, so we need to explore it (or overthink it) in order to understand why. And as I said, it's subjective, as how my brain interprets the feedback is different than the other guy's. My stroke is different, and so many other factors are different. If different environments (cue/shaft/tip, etc.) give me different feedback and a particular environment makes it easier for me to get more spin or control or speed, then why wouldn't a player rather pick that environment?

I haven't played the game since 1979, just from 1995. In that time I got to play with various types of cues, shafts and tips, and I'm not the only one who will tell you that it makes a difference. A psychological difference is still a difference.

I've tried almost every LD shaft that came out on the market between 1998 and 2010 and always went back to the Predator 314 shaft. The Z is "better", but not for me. It's not about being a fanboy; it's picking up what works best for you.

I can't tell you right now which CF is the best for me, as I haven't tried any of them for enough time to tell you.

I would have just stayed with Rhyno if I didn't have fitting issues; it's not just being flush with the butt; the shaft simply doesn't screw all the way... and Rhyno's response made me want nothing to do with them anymore after I got 2 shafts and a jump cue from them. When you get burnt once, you will be more cautious the next time, so instead of trying 5 $100 shafts that might work, I can get a $500 shaft that I know works.
Maybe we'll get lucky and Brother Ron will chime in!!😂😭

This bullshit about balance-point and its effect on spin has 'done got old' as they say around here. Complete malarkey.
Balance can indirectly affect spin and that is if you grabbed the cue for the first time and never played with it. With everything being equal and you know the cue then balance point has no affect on spin.

I played with someone's heavy butt cue and he put a light carbon shaft on. If felt like the front kept lifting on all my shots. I finally got the hang of it but it did indirectly messed with my stroke till I figured it out. Changed how I held it.

It shouldn't be documented as something that affects spin.

I think you might be right. I noticed that now.

Some of the options have the word "pro" somewhere in their sku number, and some do not. I think those might have the good shaft.

I'm going to give this another shot, I just ordered the same one garczar did.
The 'Pro' is just the cue/butt model. There are three 'Pro' models, the one i got and two with fancy decals, shaft should be the same. They don't indicate any 'Pro' shaft option. I'm guessing here but that looks like a break shaft taper or even maybe a carom taper. Someone in qc dogged it here. Even the cues pictured on the Crical site show shafts with fairly long tapers.

We are all guessing here. There is so much lost in translation on the Amazon listing and their own website.

The amazon listing has 11 options:

CL-01
CL-02
CL-03
Set CL-01
Set CL-03
Set CL-04
Set CL-Pro1
Set CL-Pro3
crucial-upgrade-pro1
crucial-upgrade-pro2
crucial-upgrade-pro3

My guess is the first 6 above that do not have the word "pro" anywhere will come with the tree-trunk shaft. The last 5 that have the word "pro" will come with the shaft you received.

Still think the shaft you got was a mistake. Never seen any cf shaft like that, even lo buck ones aren't that funky.

Farther ordered one of the Cricals... the squirt is insane... set up a shot to the corner pocket, shot it about meidum speed with inside english.. cueball squirted off and object ball missed the pocket by at least a half diamond.

It feels good though. Fit and finish is nice... but that squirt/deflection/whatever is bonkers.

No clue what this is all about. The 12.4mm shaft i got is lo-squirt, about same as Rhino and just a tad more than a Cynergy. I hit it and a cynergy back to back. didn't see any squirt like you're describing. weird.
