Crical Pro- great Amazon deal

No clue what this is all about. The 12.4mm shaft i got is lo-squirt, about same as Rhino and just a tad more than a Cynergy. I hit it and a cynergy back to back. didn't see any squirt like you're describing. weird.

I think thats what you get when you buy these cheap carbon shafts. The quality control is not there so they lack consistency from shaft to shaft. Personally I don’t mind spending a little more for the name brands as you know what you are getting.

I just ordered the CL-01,
I got the CL-3,
Tree trunk CL-01 ? ? _____________________________________________________________Pro Taper CL-03:

There are gillions of sub-$200 cf shafts sold with no issues of any kind. We're talking about one shaft here. I wouldn't throw them under the bus over one shaft. I've never seen one that tapered like this other than maybe a break shaft. IMO this was meant to be a break shaft(possibly a carom too) or one just slipped thru QC. The one i got is flawless.

I just looked on Temu at various cf shaft offerings and there are more than one that comes in a conical taper. Still guessing i know but i think this is what the guy got, a conical 3c/break taper shaft.

There is no way this is a quality control issue. It's just the shaft sku. I already bought 2. Why don't one of you buy one of the ones that does not have the word "pro" in it, and another of you buy the one that does have the word "pro" in it. (pick both different than what garczar and I did). It's free returns on amazon. I'm not going to do the legwork and buy and return 3. Then we will know for sure. Paul#, how about you? You seem to be the most interested in budget CF shafts.

It could still be QC but most likely they sent a conical shaft. On Temu there's a bunch avail.

Farther ordered one of the Cricals... the squirt is insane... set up a shot to the corner pocket, shot it about meidum speed with inside english.. cueball squirted off and object ball missed the pocket by at least a half diamond.

It feels good though. Fit and finish is nice... but that squirt/deflection/whatever is bonkers.

A buddy that I shoot with regularly bought a Crical and was complaining about the ridiculous squirt it produces. I never hit it personally so who knows but I don't have any reason to doubt what he says. I have the Rhino and have no complaints about it.

How could it be QC? Aren't CF shafts made on a mandrel or something similar? They might be off .05mm from shaft to shaft, but not a full 2mm. The shaft I received was 100% designed that way.

I like Rhino's 10.5mm pro taper. I might convince a friend to buy the Crical but he thinks the Rhino's small tip is OK. There's got to be other CL-0x and CL-Crical-Upgrade-PROx buyers on AZBilliards.

An Amazon buyer bought a CL-03 pro taper shaft (Garczar's pro taper model). His review is below. I wish he had stated whether it did or did not have pro taper. Instead he wrote that it did not have a tapered shaft. If he meant no taper in the first 10 inches? Its pro taper.

My review on this is mixed. The weights do not come with the stick. It does not have a tapered shaft. The tip is not shaped which is not really that big of a deal as you should shape your tip to YOUR liking. I’m still working on shaping the tip. If you take too much off you can’t put it back, so to say. It’s a good stick, I just have to make it fit me. I’m not mad I bought it. Though the weights are not included, I would guess it’s between a 20 and 21. If you’re looking for a lighter stick, this ain’t it.

The reviewers are all bangers, they don't know anything. Can't trust anything they say. You're a player, go buy it;)

Sound like a gamble and a waist of money.
These cues are aimed at people who are not players and don't know anything about pool cues. So yes taper, no taper, doesn't matter, they only know house cues.
The notion that all CF shafts are equal is simply wrong, there are different ways to manufacture the tubes, some have filling, some don't, some have different construction at the front end. They will play different, they will deflect different and you can't trust a non-brand company for anything they advertise.

I think the weights are segmented and all there. Probably have to get all out individually, find the closest combination, and reinsert individually.

The second Crical came in. This one is 10x better than the first. The taper is beautiful! If anyone wants to order, get this model.

IMO, it is NOT low deflection. It's about like a normal wood shaft, pre predator 314 days. If that's important to you, this is not the shaft for you.

I'll have pictures and a video later.

Don't know how you guys test for squirt by this shaft i got is lo-defl. There are others lower but its a lot less than the wood cues i A/B'd it with. I shoot at the center diamond on end rail like you see in most videos and this shaft barely squirts it all. About the same as the Cynergy.

Im shooting this shot with inside (left) english. Low def/low squirt, the object ball hits the point or goes in.

With the Crical, the object ball hit the side rail about 1 diamond up from the pocket. My father also has one of the Konollen Carbon Fiber shafts he picked up a couple years ago. Practically same results. If I had to compare the squirt/deflection/whatever to something I would say it reacted similar to a non-laminated wood shaft with an ivory ferrule.

Same shot with my Mezz Ingite, the ball goes in the right side of the pocket.

Same shot with my Revo 12.9 and it barely grazed the side rail but still went in.

i used mine a couple hrs yesterday and didn't miss any spin shots by anywhere close to that much. maybe i'm just a genius at adapting. that's gotta be it. ;)

Yes definitely that and you got a really good one as an anomaly. 😁
