Oh no!!Can someone explain to me in detail what CTE aiming is? I can’t find any information on this forum about this acronym. What does it mean?
Drive any man to drink!!CTE clandestine theatrical experience
is a system of challenges and obstacles that are thrown arbitrarily into the path of an innocent and ignorant victim for their personal benefit and permanent development
the journeys provided through spectacular truths, devastating losses, self annihilating achievements and incalculable inner questioning finally prove that a shift can be found by stepping beyond a mere given field of battle and intrigue, beyond what was once a simple analysis of conflicts and their immediate resolution into an ability to conquer a vast array of innumerable deep underlying enemies that lurk in places that can never be seen or felt
Hilarious! Although I first read "personal benefit and permanent development" as "...detriment".CTE clandestine theatrical experience

Found that out the hard way.
Still don't see why the animosity is out there over something as simple as this. Don't think I ever will, nor try to.![]()

@DrCue'sProtegeCenter-To-Edge aiming.
Go on YouTube and search on CTE Pool. Stan Shuffett in Kentucky is one of it's main teachers.

He taught me, I like it.By the way he clams stuff, it's apparent the method is flawed.
I think another big thing is just plain closed mindedness. I mean, I can aim, you can aim, we all can aim. But if you're not aiming the same way aiming works for me, then it's on. We can no longer be civil, we must see who can piss the farthest! Wind direction be damned! The biggest problem with aiming threads is it seems people start to belittle things they don't understand, I suppose its human nature to a point.
I assume this has been asked and talked about before on here. But I really couldn't find a thread that answered this question for me. So here goes.
Is CTE nothing more than aiming the center of the CB to the edge of the OB? Is that all there is to it? Or is it much more detailed than that?
The reason I am asking is I might consider taking a lesson if I can determine if CTE aiming would be of benefit to me.

Most aiming systems define a few easily-visualized alignments that the shooter uses as "landmarks" close to the actual needed shot alignments, so the adjustments by feel are relatively small. CTE is one of the more complicated versions of that. Before anyone gets upset that this is not a mathematically sound system or geometrically accurate. I know. I don't care because it helps me visualize the shot in a way that helps me make it virtually every time.
Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice...
@JB Cases do you feel like explaining this to @DrCue'sProtege ? You have a great understanding of the topic but be forewarned, I'm about 65% sure he's a troll or just wanting everything spoon fed. I could be wrong, it's happened before.
Fair enough! He's not a troll. He isn't wanting spoon fed.
He's just someone that is trying to get better at this extremely difficult hobby. And finds it very frustrating.
When I started in industry, all the encabulators were made from wood. I never understood why we had to change. All aiming/alingment systems are simply tools to get you the right feel to make your cut.
CTE is just an over elaborate system that takes work to understand and effectively apply....not that it "can't" get you the correct feel...it is just a bit more than is necessary to get the job done........IMO.
One of the best tidbits for me that I got out of CTE/Pro1 was shot alignment, its great for getting my feet in the right place.I think another big thing is just plain closed mindedness. I mean, I can aim, you can aim, we all can aim. But if you're not aiming the same way aiming works for me, then it's on. We can no longer be civil, we must see who can piss the farthest! Wind direction be damned!
In reality CTE works, as does any other aiming system. There are good "tidbits" to it that aren't necessarily included in other aiming systems. There's no real point in bashing systems because we all see things differently, and all can work. It's nice to have other flavors of aiming out there but it's not nice to get all tribal about them. Aiming is basically the NPR political thread of pool. I'm right, you're wrong and vice versa.![]()
