Pechauer Cues

Just wondering what everyone thinks of Pechauer cues? I am thinking about purchasing one and just wondering if anyone here plays with a Pechauer. Or knows anything about them recently?

It's always nice to have some good recommendations on a cuemaker before purchasing.

p.s. people, don't start. I am talking about insults, twisting things around, trashing & bashing, etc. Just don't start.
Something about the Indian and not the arrow.

I have a few. I settled on Pechs' several years ago after trying examples from most of the current popular companies.

1. The hit feels good to me...not sure if they "hit like a monster", but I like 'em.

2. I like that they are a small town American company that machines their own parts, and harvest their own wood.

3. They offer a variety of styles.

4. The three times I have emailed them over the years, I have received a response from the same person within 24 hours.

5. They may not have the name recognition of a meucci or mcdermott, or they may not be as popular as cue-tec or predator...just solid cues.

I think they do.
In fact, maybe a little better.
No?

I like the 2 I have. Plain cues that I bought in perfect shape for cheap. Never had one or even touched one before. I am impressed. Good cues for sure.

Maybe a location thing? Here in middle Tennessee, few people have them...but plenty from meucci, cue-tec, and viking.

Pechauer, while they are 2 hrs away, from May to October I drive by within a mile probably twice a week and have always wanted to stop in. I have never heard a bad comment on their cues. They are fairly popular in my area, as is Schon, McDermott, and Jacoby, who near me is the most popular cue.
They also sponsor cue sports heavily, and in fact are the major sponsor, I think for the WPBA world 8 ball championship starting a week from now in Green Bay. There is big money in that event. They also sponsor youth billiards in a big way.
I toyed with getting one for awhile, but with so many different joint pins in the cues I have, I am thinking of getting rid of some cues and just concentrating on my Schon pins, and cues with Jacoby's radial pin

Is the Jacoby radial pin different than the standard radial pin?

It sure is funny. I have so many cues that I forget I already have a Pechauer cue.

Having said that, I really like the looks of this one below so I think I will go ahead and get it. Especially since everybody has given Pechauer some pretty good compliments. Oh, and thanks to all the posters for not posting any insults and rude comments.

The only question now is - what shaft will I get with it?

Caution.. that can chance any moment. We should have a separate thread for that. No holds barred. Call the thread Rip Each Other a New One.
Seriously discussing cues is fun. Most are too nice to use.

This is my current player P19-N ( a recommendation from a member here (y) ) , I ordered the it will " kill " wood shaft with matching rings . I really like the hit , still using the jade medium tip it came with . Lots of compliments

didn't pechauer make predator cues in the 2000's? or was it just limited editions. i know falcon made most early preds

Every one I've ever had the chance to play with, was outstanding...If I was in the market for a new production cue, I would get one...I love the model P14N...

A lot of players would argue that Pechauer cues are custom made and not production.

Again, seems to me this is splitting hairs.

One of my favorite cue until my fire. Very well built, good looking. Great customer service.

Only complaint was the custom joint, had a lot of trouble getting a Cynergy shaft to fit.

Tim Padgett and Kent Davis to the rescue.

Well made and a very solid players
I don't like the proprietary joint pin (not just their's, all proprietary joints), it's hard to get a different brand shaft for it.
This is the main reason I went with Jacoby for my playing cue. I can't stand any type of proprietary joint. Same reason I stayed away from Mezz as well.

I will second softshot and the p+ lite shaft. I have a 30" one in 11.75mm and I love it. I also have a 30" P+pro in 12.5 mm that I may like even better...I ha e not gone over to the carbon dark side....yet
