They are so ugly though. I would never want a newer Joss. They look so generic.
Most people dont want a flashy cue that begs to get stolen.. I'm the only one who needs to know I'm holding money...

When I see a newer Joss, the ebay Dale Perry cues come to mind. I think they look very similar. Both have very generic looking points, and very low grade curly maple in the forearms.
I will admit that the huge difference is that the Joss would hit far better then the ebay Dale Perry cue. I speak of the DP cues with the Brass Plated Radial pins.

Not sure about those, but any Diveney could give it the 6 out, lol. No offense. A Kikel could give it the Blue through. The Two out, lol.

I’ve owned more than a few pechauer cues. One of my first “serious” cues was a plain Jane pechauer JP with a P+lite shaft. I loved the way it shot. You actually got feedback from the hit. At the time it was the best I could afford. Unfortunately I sold it. Wish I still had it. My current shooter is an Pechauer ivory limited edition #7/10 paired with a 12.4 Rogue shaft. Matching joint protectors by Danny Sergeon. Pechauer makes a good cue and they’re consistent in quality. Even the lower end cues hit well imo. Pics for tax. I love the ivory joint. The feel and feedback is top notch. My only complaint is the lower end cues look kind of budget. But they still hit well.

Pechauer doesn't use decals or overlays. Points and inlays on the JP series are done the same as their Pro Series. What's wrong with using a dark stain on maple? What are you talking about with getting refined and sanding off?

Okay, their wording confused me. Why not just say "Stained Black", instead of "Simulated Ebony"? I still think their JP series looks cheaper. Actually, I really do not care for more Production cues, with CNC work. I like Sharp. Sharp points and veneers, and sharp inlays. Everything that Pechauer does is Rounded / CNC? I assume so.
I’ve had a pechauer SP for about 25 years now ( daughter currently has it) the wood is beautiful as is the finish , ordered with 2 shafts $200 back then . Also have a 314 for it .
Several people wanted to buy it .
I wouldn’t sell it , it’s pretty close up but from a distance just looks like a bar cue

You can get sharp points and inlays with CNC. It depends on the type of the CNC machine. McDaniel cues are an example, I’m sure that there are many others.
As for wording, my guess it’s ment for search engines.

And, why can't he use real Ebony? Is Ebony really that expensive to use on pool cues? He has cues that are pretty close to the $1k range that he markets as "Sim Ebony". Just seems that he is cheaping out on materials for the sake of more profit.
I know his cues play very nice though.
They do not command much on the used market though. I also know that.
1. Ebony is expensive
2. Real African Gabon Ebony is hard to get. It is classified as endangered, so really it’s best for all not to use it.
3. Ebony is heavy, it needs to be cored with maple or another light stable wood in order to get it to a decent player’s weight. Might as well just be maple…
Why is it OK to stain maple in other colors but not black?
So far I really like this new Pechauer cue. Once I get the right tip on it (pressed Elkmaster) I am sure it will be even better. It will be right up there with my Chad Carter custom cue with the ivory joint and ferrule! I am heading to Owensboro next week to have Chad Carter work on some of my cues. Including putting on some pressed Elkmaster tips.
And I don't care what one thinks about whether or not it's a custom cue or a production cue or a cross between the two. I think it plays outstanding and is an absolute beautiful cue. It's the one on the left.
