Pool Inventions of the Future

Swappable cue tips.

So I can try as many $30 dollar cue tips without fear of spending the money and having to cut them off and throw them in the garbage. It would be nice to keep the tips incase I wanted to go back to them for whatever reason.

I have an idea that rather then test shaft deflection by hitting balls on a table, the end mass of a cue is measured directly and compared to a standard. This maybe can be done with a vibrational frequency sweep, and can be a small device that anyone can buy, compared to an expensive table and cue robot that hits shots perfectly and repeatedly.

I like this especially since now there is little but do-it-yourself testing. There would be detractors, of course. See https://forums.azbilliards.com/thre...-stiffer-cf-shaft-has-less-deflection.578531/

An automated shot clock system built into the lights. It knows which player is at the table, knows when all the balls stopped moving/spinning, counts down on its own, etc. It can project the time onto the table in a few spots.

True shot clocks on every table in a pool room or tournament venue.
This would be awesome, in China, they have ones that count the score in snooker, so it is more than possible that this could facilitate pool, turn taking etc.
