Odd observation while playing BB 8 Ball

Played a guy cheap 8 ball moving the coin. Flat top Valley just recovered and played quite well. If either of us broke and made a ball or balls we only ran out maybe 20%. Now if we made more balls , 4 or more , the % was probably 75%.

If we broke dry the incoming player would run out 50%+ of the time. Almost the same for a scratch on the break.

The first 6 games we played were all break and runs or 1 inning games.

Just seems odd the higher % for incoming player to run out.

Well obviously less congestion with a lower # of balls on the table , but breaking dry means the incoming player has a full rack and yet the runout % was higher then the breaker continuing after a successful break.

I would break differently if I was giving up a run out every other dry break
