2025 Men's World 10-Ball Championship, Sept. 20-28 -- General Comments Thread

Kazakis through to the final. Shane hadn’t missed the back of the cup until his missed the whole pocket on the 13th or 14th.

I only saw the last set, and although Kazakis played strong, he wasn’t as clean as Shane.

Shane got one big roll after a long jump shot. Kazikes bumped a few balls and got away with it, and he flat out butchered a shot, and got a fortunate kiss that could have easily been a sellout.

But, Kazakis didn’t miss a spot shot, and only jiggled one of them. Really impressive cuing.

Shane lost the world 9 ball on a skid on the 8 ball against Ko. Now he loses a chance at the World 10 ball on a skid on the 6 ball that cost him the third set.
Shane did lose the 3rd set, but the skid on the 6 ball that I'm remembering was in the first game of the 4th set. Shane lost that game but went on to win the 4th set.

People keep bashing Kazakis saying he’s not that great or consistent. What people forget is that he zeroed Shane in a major final and I would have to say that he makes the game simple using straightforward tactics and avoiding any flashy shots or position. He also meticulously prepares for each shot and doesn’t rush them. Some call him boring but I think he simplifies, is efficient and gets it done and can be an example in shot selection. Admitted he is not the most fluent and sometimes pressure gets to him but he works what he has got and despite some bad misses earlier he was stellar in shootout.

fair enough, he works with what he's got. the scorecard only says who, not how, and getting to a world championship final with this kind of field is impressive no matter what. he's in for a tough one here though.

alex got one back, 2-1 ko, who answered with a BNR in the fourth set.

both are breaking fairly good, and ref isn't slug racking
