What he said, but first, what kind of work do you do?
Me? What do I do? Here we go....
I thought you knew. I am a physician, MD, I teach medicine. I have RN, BS Biology/Pre-Med, MS in Medical Education, MD, and internship in General Surgery. Mostly I work privately for individual clients; medical students, residents, fellows, and practicing physicians contract me. I am a tutor, mentor, coach, a career counselor, and more. Officially my business is a medical education consulting firm, and there are other doctors that work for me, but only those that I have personally trained. I do also teach at institutions that contract me, like medical schools and residencies, and I have relationships with numerous medical education institutions in the US as well as around the world. I teach their students and doctors, as well as do curriculum design. For example, I was recently offered a clinical teaching position at the University of Alabama. During COVID I helped cover an ICU and taught residents at a major university hospital. I also served on a COVID think tank during the pandemic. I am on 24 hour call for my clients and consult on cases constantly. Mostly I work for individuals and try not to be "under" the institutions. I like my autonomy. You can sort of say I am a doctor's doctor. I promote academic and clinical excellence, I make excellent doctors.
None of my private clients has ever paid me with a pool cue, but I have been paid with things like cars and guns. Not kidding. I occasionally have exchanged my time at a discount for donations to a charity of my choice. Most recently I accepted a Microtech knife in exchange for a consult, which I thought was very cool. I also do a lot of pro bono work for struggling medical students and residents. One of my clients, a medical resident, recently had her car illegally repossessed, so I sent her the funds for a car. There will be a legal battle over the repossession, but in the mean time, she requires a car.
You asked...and I am on meds today from surgery I had yesterday. I am a bit spaced out so I will ramble. Sorry.
So, to keep this on pool, here is a pool cue. It is an unknown in my collection. Leather wrap, 5/16x14 brass pin. Shafts are 30 1/8, butt is 29, both shafts 13mm, one longer ferrule, one shorter. Sorry I don't have more specs. It's one I haven't pulled out of storage yet beyond laying eyes on it.
Cue plays real nice. No idea who made it.
