A tip for overthinkers.

Uh oh another trigger. I played slow pitch softball and we won our recreational league. I played one game on a hit of orange sunshine (in the barrel tab). I only told one team mate. I told him with directions to just remove me if I acted uh strange.. it was a success experience that time. I hit 4 for 4 and even caught a line drive at short stop. The traces and trails were awsome. The next acid trip, not so much. But I survived and did figure out My Religion. 😉
Orange barrel rocked!!!

A crazy 'chemical' story: At the Tulsa Billiard Palace road player Charlie Ford(real name? who knows) played a good local Tulsa player named Randy Jones. We didn't know til after the smoke cleared that Charlie had taken 3-4hits of blotter beforehand. He played PERFECT pool for about two hours. When asked later about it Charlie said the balls looked big and 'sparkly' and they just wanted to home, their pockets. Some funny shit.
Oh yeah!!!

Charlie worked this area some time ago, booked way more winners than losers

must have been steered because he knew who to avoid to continue taking it off from the bottom up

only the top players in this area ( Christopher, Fargo, Oop, and perhaps Cook ) had to like it, but, Ford avoided them
Wasn't his first name anthony??

That's one for the books!!
Btw Jay, he was a crazy hippie.😉
In my year of 'delics (one literal year - I was like 14, 15), I learned there was quite a dosage range on the pills. It was prolly like kiddie aspirin so the dealers didn't get in real trouble. :ROFLMAO: If the stuff you had wouldn't go to fantasyland, you could probably go double, maybe triple.
Some loady pals got their hands on windowpanes and did some real tripping. Glad I missed that.

A friend had what looked like a roll of cash register tape, windowpane. Most of the people in our group tried it, not my thing! I knew a serious stoner that had done a good bit of acid. He had flashbacks. Didn't bother him at all, a free high. Those of us in the car he was driving would damned near crap a brick though!

Did I ever tell you the story of playing Waterdog when he was high on LSD? I had no idea who he was at the time. I just took him for some crazy hippy. And for all his money! ;)
I witnessed a player I’ll leave nameless under similar influence in a room in Baltimore once. He didn’t miss a ball for almost four hours, a feat in itself. When I was told that he was under the “aforementioned influence”, it made it that much more remarkable.

I remember when I first started to play - when a ball was hit good, it felt good, your cue had a certain feel to it and the ball made that sound when hitting the pocket.
Undeniable. Heads turned.
All players know that sound.

Just for shits and giggles, try playing with earplugs and tell me if you dont have a situational awareness not found during normal play.
Not earbuds, actual ear plugs. Noise cancelling earplugs.
That sound you normally hear when in stroke becomes something completely different . When you hit one bad, its like fingernails down a chalkboard. The feedback you receive from hindering your hearing can be enlightening.
If you can interpret that data, it adds a whole new level of subtle feedback you may not be aware of.
Try it.
It’s all about your subconscious and clearly your mind. It’s that way in every sport. There’s a method called the ‘quiet eye’ that is used by basketball players to make free throws and golfers to make putts. Look it up and put your brain aside and clear your mind.

memphis area, C scuffled around here in the late 90's, claimed to be from Houston, iirc
in Houston they called him Park Bench Charlie iirc. His hi-gear was super strong. Matlock offered him the 8b but CF declined. He told me later he might have won but didn't want to work that hard. One night Charlie and a buddy who was a barber left the Palace to go hit some bars. they had like 40bux between them. About 4-5hrs later they came back in holdin' around 1500. Charlie said he never made a closed bridge the whole time. Good times..

If this post gets one person to realize this, It'll be worthwhile.

Thats hard money. Know exactly how he felt.
Some may call it low hanging fruit, I called it rent.
Didnt mind working, just rather work smart than hard.

I called my normal nightly activities chopping wood.

I still remember some of the shots from tough matches fifty years ago. Ask me about something in a nightly activity, it is like asking me what I did on my day job. While I enjoyed shooting pool more than most jobs, I didn't remember playing most people a month later.

I wear ear plugs every time I play. Unlike most people my age, my ears are super sensitive and I hear everything and everybody. It's a distraction to me and even with the ear plugs, I still hear more than I want to. Hitting balls during play isn't so bad but the sound of the break is grating to my ears. The biggest reason for the ear plugs is the fact that I'm playing at a senior center where most others are wearing hearing aids and still shouting at each other to hear what they're saying.

My hearing aids have Bluetooth connection to phone that's youtube capable. So music background is available. A favorite is Free Bird.
In the tavern, Free Bird came over the juke box as I was dispensing a lesson. The youngster said, "I never loose to Free Bird ", as he racked for the third consecutive time. At the hand over of another 5, I quipped, "I never lose to Freebird either." Y🤷‍♂️
Oops edit, forgot the link:

Unfortunately they've played the grooves out of that song.
Same with "Stairway to Heaven" and "Stranglehold."
