A $100k prize fund is not a lot.
1st gets $30,000
2nd gets $14,000
3/4 gets $7,000
5-8 gets $3,500
yes, not so much. but if they would have participated in both men's and doubles there is more money and more chances to win...

Need to give Jesus Atencio a pile of credit for being a good sport.
Gomez either forgot to call the push or the official didn't hear him. Jesus didn't take the foul.
Whether it was the "right" thing to do for his tournament is up for debate, but that's good sportsmanship.
Those two must know each other really well, they were joking and laughing most of the match. Especially during that snooker-ish exchange on the 1 ball (i think the rack we're referring to).i saw that. one shot later he was in deep deep trouble, and gomez seemingly said something like you may regret being nice, lol
but atencio massé'd out of the snooker and eventually he won the rack
much improved player, atencio. he did not miss many balls in that match.
Yeah, but Filler v. Shaw on Table 1.Looks like only one winners round of the men's today at 12:30.Rest is mixed doubles at 11, 2ish, 4:30. No evening matches.
Atencio's got the whole package. Give him another year or two and he could be up there in the top 10, or even the top 5.i saw that. one shot later he was in deep deep trouble, and gomez seemingly said something like you may regret being nice, lol

I've seen loads of uncharacteristic misses today. Are these Apex tables really playing this tight? I know they're 4.25 and it's humid, but jeez.Just tuning in. Boring as hell. IDK what it is, I'm a diehard and can't watch.
Good pairing too the two Ouchans vs Tkach and Loukatos. All 4 players look like bangers, missing tons of shots.
I was not a fan of the format at first, but it is much better than Ultimate Pool, and after seeing in person how the audience gets exited over the shootout, I changed my mind. Even the pro players gathered around a shootout to watch it. When they get to a highish number without missing, everyone goes to look.politics is over, it seems, but the best US players have been more or less boycotting the predator events since the first one. the tables were gaffy and the format wonky. the tables are fixed and the format i think has been proven at least determinative? if you like your game and practices the shootout (and triangle rack breaking) you've got just as good a chance as an opponent of equal skill.
the eurotour refs may be another source of annoyance
