Turning Stone

I wonder what his event Fargorate performance was. I'm guessing 870 or so.

TROY Deocharran 634
Marco Cam NR
Brian Vu 644
Donny Mills 752
Jesus Atencio 797
Martin Daigle 735
Jayson Shaw 834

According to the Digital Pool bracket, John shot 917.95. I don’t know how accurate that is, but I have no reason to doubt it.

I wonder what the highest ever tournament performance is?

Is there also a way to see what his fargo rate is right handed vs left ? He's so smooth when he's playing righty. Lefty not as smooth but I think he is winning more as a lefty

Mike Page posted something a few years after John made the switch. John dipped down for a while after the switch and then returned to the same rating.

I can also add that I had the great pleasure of watching John while he made the change. John plays out of the same pool room I do in Toronto. When the pain got so great that he had to take a hiatus from playing pool, he started playing a bit with his left hand.

John’s idol in cue sports is the great Ronnie O’Sullivan and he had previously worked on trying to play left handed well enough to not need a bridge on many shots. So he wasn’t starting playing left-handed from nothing, but my guess is that when he first started experimenting left-handed full time he was probably around 700 Fargo with his left hand. All of the knowledge was still there, of course, and 90% of the shots were fine. But when it came to a tester or a shot that required power, he did not have the same degree of confidence.

What I got to see were the countless hours he put in practising left-handed, building up the same level of expertise and confidence to be able to play tough shots under pressure, where the real champions need it.

huh? the whole event was on UpstateAl FB page and Sharkstream yt channel.
Had trouble finding specific matches on Sharkstream. Is US Al's channel public? I remember his pals were always funny. You could always see enough of the feature match didn't need much expert commentary anyway. There's a US Al stickie up there with zero responses. Hope he got funding.

I watched all his streams this event without incident. Maybe you have to like or follow him on FB.

BTW if you have a Digital Pool account (even a free one) you could watch any match (except when the stream was messed up).

On the Digital Pool site, if you are a member there, go to Tournaments, and then search for Turning Stone.
All 254 matches are listed there, and you can watch whichever one you want. I know they were having bandwidth issues, and some of the streams were a little glitchy, but they're there, and you can see them.
Completely free, which is pretty amazing considering what goes into collecting and saving those matches.

Found the last day stream on USAs site but the FB is a labyrinth for non members. will take a look at digital pool - probably won't sign up tho.

That is so cool to see that he is around the same level now and will probably go over 800 soon
